BATTLE MAGE SECRETS: PLAYING TARGET PRACTICE WITH QUORA

Hello my fellow Splinterlands players,
Welcome back to my Splinterlands BATTLE MAGE SECRETS challenge. We still have this Target Practice ruleset as our main theme so we will discuss about a battle with that ruleset.
Because this is the second post, I will not talk a lot about the ruleset. We have done that on previous post. In this one I will talk about Quora Towershead.

Debatable, Quora Towershead is one of the strongest in this game. People love to spam her into the line up, eventhough the meta breaks apart, sometime due to her own Superior Strength, She is still able to carry her team to victory. Now the real question, will Target Practice ruleset make her invalid or not?
let's check it out
THE BATTLE
This was a modern format Gold League battle and I was playing my an account BLACKKRRSANTAN from @bulldog1205 the streamer. If you have some time, please visit his blog or his youtube or twitch. He makes wonderful contents and sometime holds some awesome Giveaways.

We had a good combination here, especially Target Practice + Melee Mayhem. This was the combination I had been looking for showcasing how strong Quora Towershead was...
So this was how the battle went:

- The battle started with both of us buffing up our team and debuffing our opponents. With Immortalis void and their Goblin Psychic silence ability, I would like to say all my magic attacks would be nullified... My team was in deep shit here.
- My opponent came with 7 Melee damage, 3 range damage, and 3 magic damage. All together, they became 13 damage per round.
- My team had 11 melee damage, and 2 magic damage. Combined all became 13 damage per round.
- Looked like both of us came with the same fire power. this would be very interesting.

- Round 1 was a terible one for me, my team got pawned, literally we did no damage because of Forcefield ability that Mycelic Slipspawn had.
- My Thane Newsong died uselessly. There went my inspire ability, making -1 damage for my Hill Giant, Grund and Quora. However this became a blessing in disguise.

- Round 3 started with 4 vs 6 condition, my team looked like teared apart here.
- Finally my7 Quora managed to kill that slipspawn, she got buffed up by her bloodlust ability... however their spirit hoarder dispelled it in later part of the round.

- Round 4 started wih 4 vs 5 condition, yes my team was trying to catch up the losses.
- This time my Quora Towershead killed that Spirit Hoarder.... no more dispel now, hail BLOODLUST!!!

- Finally my Hill Giant could rest in peace, he had done his part greatly

- 3 vs 4, However this time my formation was way more convincing than theirs. I had my cores alive.

- This became a race who killed first, they killed my Quora or my team killed their venari seedsmith first.... and We won that race

- 3 vs 3, this was the turning point, we were even. However I lost my Grund due to that Giant Killer from Mycelic Infantry

- 2 vs 2, I believed I won this battle.

- Wow their Hill Giant survived the previous round. However this was it, Good Game.

CLOSURE AND DISCUSSION
That was an intense battle, I gambled a lot by sending 5 units team, not 6... just to prove Quora Towershead was something you should not mess around in Target Practice ruleset and luckily it paid off. My team won and here are some points we can take from the battle.
1. BEATING IMMORTALIS ALWAYS GIVES YOU GOOD FEELING

Lllama and Immortalis are two OP summoner in Earth Element, so it definitely gives you good vibe if you win against them. Quora Towershead basically is till a mage, she relies on magic attacks too. So having Immortalis is kind of having her anti meta too.
It's hard to believe Lobb - the ape - LowLand could win against Immortalis. They came with 3 counter meta:
- Slipspawn force field ability - make my Grund hit like a little girl
- Immortalis Void + Goblin Psychic Silence - nullified all my magic damage
- Spirit Hoarder dispel - erase Quora Towershead's Bloodlust buff
So it's a bit lucky I could come back and won that battle.
2. INTERESTING PAIR OF RULESET

There are a few combination of ruleset that can make things unpredicted, one of them is this one, Target Practice + Melee Mayhem. Melee Mayhem enables melee units to attack from anywhere, however if that unit has Magic attack or Range attack, the melee attack will follow the previous attack, which mean it will land on the unit that magic/range attack is aiming at.
In this round, my opponent did not predict that after Mycelic Slipspawn died, My Quora would aim Spirit hoarder who had the least health. if he switched position with Venari Seedsmeeth, I might lose that battle.
In some battles, we need to pay more attention to this kind of combination. Else we lose due to just tiny mistake.
3. SILLY LINE UP SOMETIME WORKS WELL
Honestly, I think My Line Up is a silly one. Seriously 5 units only for 40 Mana cap battle? That is definitely something that far from wise. Above 30 Mana we should get 6 units team, not half baked one like this.
Did my strategy work? Definitely not, I lost Thane Newsong so fast and Fearcefull double strike 2x5 = 10 melee damages did not happen at all, Slipspawn nailed it.
This is what I call Silly line up work. My win was purely due to Quora Towershead prowess. Opponent did not predicted that my Quora Melee Damage would follow the snipping target.
ok that's for today, Have fun with Target Practice ruleset. And please and don't forget to leave your comment or feedback below. thank you.
