Hello Hivians and Hivers,

Welcome to my weekly Splinterlands BATTLE MAGE SECRETS challenge. Every week we have a new theme and this week we have Upclose and personal ruleset as our main theme. Due to my peak workload at the moment, this is my only participation in this round. I wish I can share two battles, but it's already very hard for me to get spare time.

Upclose and Personal and is a ruleset which only allows Melee Units to enter the battlefield. Dual type attacks such as Melee-Range and Melee-Magic are still allowed here, so that's one of the cheat way to gain big advantages here. Quora Towersheads is one of the most suitable in this type of ruleset, however in this opportunity I won't share a battle of her.

I have other card in my mind now, it's one of my favorite from the old days. SILVERSHIELD KNIGHT.

Silvershield Knight is not a powerhouse melee unit. He is a decent one however he represents what a Melee unit should be..... Good Melee Damage, Fast, Armor and Not half ass health point. He has good abilities too, and none of them are trash or hard to be used.

Having Silvershield Knight in our line up doesn't guarantee our line up is getting stronger, however in right usage, good set up and supporting ruleset, Silvershield Knight will be an awesome unit rampaging your opponent, orchestrating strong melee line up.

Ok let's check out battle now...

THE BATTLE

The rulesets were interesting, we had an upclose and personal with super sneak. This meant every melee units there would deliver attacks. And this was a wild silver league rank battle, a wild format allowed all cards from all edition to join in the battle.

The real challenge was 13 mana cap. So we could only bring 1 core units and some small units. Too many small units would endangered ourself because nowadays there were many units with Bloodlust ability.

So this was how the battle went:

image.png

  • The battle started with both of us buffing up our team and debuffing our opponents. My team got divine shield and inspire, so in term of buffing up, we were winning here.
  • My opponent came with 3 damage per round.
  • My team had 8 melee damage per round. A lot higher due to Silvershield Knight's inspire ability.
  • Looked like my firepower is almost thrice of them, however their core card, Alva the Crusher, had Bloodlust and shield ability. Anything could happen either way here.

image.png

  • Nothing important happened in the first round. They took the divine shield from my uraeus and Gargoya Scrapper.
  • We lost each a unit here, however their Alva got powered up from the bloodlust here.

image.png

  • Round 3 started with 1 vs 2 condition, however that's Alva, a Gladius card which we should not take lightly.
  • If Uraeus missed any attack, my team would be put in danger... however his attack landed....

  • This was the last round, good game.

CLOSURE AND DISCUSSION

This Alva The Crusher somehow reminds me of Gorlock The Destroyer, the good thing was they did not have the same hairdo.

You must be curious, why I picked this battle which seemed to be not attractive. My point is simple, during low cap mana battle, you need to be neat and clean. My trio there was a solid meta, if there is another stronger meta, that should be a 2 card line up which consisted of Summoner Mylor - Flesh Golem - Queen Mycelia, which I believe these is one of the best for 13 mana cap.

With this battle too I think we can asure than Silvershield Knight works well in small mana too. Although this could be debated whether Lorna or Silvershield Knight who is the most influential in the small mana battle.

ok that's for today, Have fun with Upclose and Personal ruleset. And please and don't forget to leave your comment or feedback below. thank you.
