Hello Hivians and Hivers,

Another week, another new challenge... Welcome to my weekly Splinterlands Battle MAge Secrets challenge. This time we are having RISE OF THE COMMONS Ruleset as our theme this week.

RISE OF COMMONES is a ruleset which makes you and your opponent only able to pick common and rare units. Exception only for the summoners. Based on this ruleset, actually you do not need anything else, you do not need some technique or approaches. What you need is to solidifying your basic, making a strong meta using a common and are only.

Just forget all the fancies and groundbreakings moves from Epics and Legendaries. Understand the needs of you meta and fill your line up with proper units. Ok easy to say that, let's check out battle now...

THE BATTLE

This was a Gold League battle of Wild Format. I am using Blackkrrsantan, a Scholarship account for Juice Guild from @bulldog1205 our beloved streamer. Well, I was running away from modern format because people who had new Rebellion set were beating me out, so I had better Daily Loot Chest in Wild.

This ruleset were simple, a Melee Mayhem with Rise of Commons. Let's forget about that Heavy Hitters, because we only had 26 mana cap. There weren't much we could do, So here were my points of building my line up

  1. so let's get back to basic. I want to bet my team on Life Element, because they had plenty of good low mana units.
  2. I would borrow Quix The Devious from Dragon because he could help out my team.
  3. The biggest counter I had to aware was facing Cursed Windeku, That's why I needed to hit hard in one turn.

So this was how the battle went:

  • The battle started with both of us buffing up our team and debuffing our opponents. Overall my team and my opponent were trying to win the speed battle.
  • My opponent came with 11 melee damage per round.
  • My team had 7 melee damage, 2 magic damage, and 2 range damage. It's the same 11 damage per round.
  • Overall things looked equal, this would be a good battle

  • We killed their Gelatinous Cube in the first round, that's why round 2 started with 5 vs 6 condition with my team was leading the number.
  • However they caught up the pace on the second round, killing 2 of my units.

image.png

  • Round 3 started with 4 vs 4 condition, I killed his Pelacor Bandit however I lost 2 units in last round.

image.png

  • Round 4 My team was managed to turn the table back again, leading 4 to 3 now.

image.png

  • Round 5 started with 2 vs 3 condition, I believed I got this game now.

image.png

  • Pelacor Conjurer was proven strong here, he could not attack but it's pain in the ass for his opponents having to fight this conjurer

  • Round 7 was the last one, good game

CLOSURE AND DISCUSSION

The starting line up from both side were very interesting, We both relied too much on speed, however things changed in the middle and my team took this opportunity to lead the battle... which ended up by our victory. What happened in this battle were these:

1 Better Basic Meta

What differed my team with theirs was the basic meta. I had tank healer, I had scavengers, I had healing. They had better units, better starts, but they did not heal themselves which eventually one by one would die.

Individually they were better, however as a team, my side was a lot better.

2. Differentiation in Attack

I should lose this battle if I had all of my line up were melee hitters. I had range and mage, which eventually hit their annoying evasive Pelacor Bandit.

Their team were faster, if I put more melee, more misses would be on my side and I could lose this one.

3 Speed.

Whatever the result was, both of us agree that speed was the core in this battle. There were plenty of miss attacks here, and you could thank for speed and fly abilities for those.

ok that's for today, Have fun with RISE OF THE COMMONS ruleset. And please and don't forget to leave your comment or feedback below. thank you.
