BATTLE MAGE SECRETS: THE BLOODLUST COMMONER

avatar

Hello guys

Welcome to my second weekly Splinterlands BATTLE MAGE SECRETS challenge. We still have RISE OF THE COMMONS ruleset as our post theme.

This is the ruleset where we can only use common and rare units in battles. Exceptions only for summoners. I like this ruleset because most of the situation is about understanding of the basic units in each edition.

I already talked a lot about this in my previous post. So I will jump directly into the main point. The priority lies in the water element. However we need to remember that mostlikely our opponent is the same water element too. So if all goes stalemate, what should be our priority then?

Let's see our battle then...

THE BATTLE

This was a Modern Gold league rank battle, and I was using BLACKRRSANTAN, a scholarship account from bulldog1205 the famous streamer. I used this account mostly to play Brawl for JUICE GUILD. As always I always advertise this:

if you are a diamond league player and looking for a good guild to play competitive brawl, please drop us a message.

Ok now back to the main topic, here are the rulesets we:

There were three concerns that would set what kind of meta or what my priority would be in my line up.

  1. 29 Mana Cap. This is challenging, not too big and neither too small. I prefer to have two good size units so I do not have to use too many baits.
  2. The main reason why I do not like baits in this battle is because of Are you not entertained? ruleset. I must expect my opponent will have some bloodlust gladiator, because I already decide to bring one too.
  3. Equal Opportunity... This is one of the reasons why I am trying to avoid bringing baits. they get killed first and powering up opponent bloodlust gladiator.

So I made up my mind and had Isgald Vorst as my Bloodlust Gladiator, and it looked like my opponent had the same idea.

image.png

  • The battle started with both of us buffing up our team and debuffing our opponents.
  • My opponent came with 9 Melee Damage, 2 magic damage and 1 range damage. It's a combined 12 damage per round.
  • My team had 8 Melee damage and 6 range damage. Combined all it's 14 damage per round.
  • It looked like my team had more firepower than my opponent team. This should be an interesting battle

image.png

  • Both of us lost a unit in the first round. However the gap built by Bloodlust was already big. My Isgald Vorst had already got 2 steps ahead from theirs.

image.png

  • At the start of round 3, the gap was getting bigger again. My Isgald Vorst killed another target and get a level up from the bloodlust ability.

image.png

  • 4 vs 2 now at the start of round 4. I did not see any chance opponent could come back regarding my Isgald Vorst already had his attributes buffed up.

image.png

  • Round fifth was like a dejavu froum round 4, because nobody died and even nobody got hurt. That because all the unit left had a thick armors, and round 4 was about the round which both party tried to destroy opponent armors

  • This was the last round, Good Game

CLOSURE AND DISCUSSION

This should be a tough battle, however things gradually changed to one side battle. What can we see and learn from it?

1. BLOODLUST IN COMMONERS

image.png

Isgld Vorst is one of the Commoners who has tremendous potential. If you maintain him well, he could grow too powerfull thanks to his Bloodlust ability.

image.png

During RISE OF THE COMMONS, if you get a wall or do not know how to deal with situation... Try to bring him in, or any common or rare card with Bloodlust ability... then groom him at your best in order to be a game changer.

2. EQUAL OPPORTUNITY VS BLOODLUST

When you have or your opponent have a unit with bloodlust ability, think twice how you set up your line up. This battle became onesided because my opponent did no have a good lineup against a Bloodlust unit who is Isgald Vorst.

Thing will be a lot easier for him if there is no bloodlust ability holder there. However that could not be an excuse for him because he had one bloodlust holder in his line up too.

So bare in mind whenever you have Equal Opportunity, think twice if your line up keep your core units safe or they will backfire you by prodiving food for bloodluster...

ok that's for today, Have fun with RISE OF THE COMMONS ruleset. And please and don't forget to leave your comment or feedback below. thank you and see you next week.
