Brighton was an eccentric young man of Shimmer City, the capital of Khymeria. He was always seen as a strange character among the Khymian summoners. In the best times, his peers thought he was simply a distraction from their important studies. In the worst times, his fellow summoners doubted and belittled Brighton’s abilities. They were also put off by the way birds always landed on his hands and shoulders. After just two years studying at the Shimmer summoning school, Brighton decided to leave Khymeria. His loyalty was available to the highest bidder, and that is where the Dragons came in.

Hi, welcome back again to my entry post for @splinterlands weekly battle challenge. This week we have a dragons theme for the battle challenge, however I want to make a little detour. Instead of dragon monsters, I will share a battle using a dragon summoner, the Brighton Bloom, a rare rarity dragon element summoner from Dice pack. Let's see our battle, shall we?

battle rule.jpg

  • EARTHQUAKE ~ Non-flying Monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round. This is the main reason why I use Brighton Bloom for... to negate this ruleset.
  • HEALED OUT ~ All healing abilities are removed from Monsters and Summoners..
  • 44 MANA ~ With thIs amount of Mana, having a 6 monsters team is a must.

When an EarthQuake ruleset is applied, people usually have 3 conditions that they aim which change their original plan:

  1. Use flying monsters. The problem using this method is that most of the time we only bring monsters which can fly and they won't make any combo with their teammates.
  2. Using healing monster on behind. It's the most simple but negative approach, as if we are waiting which one to die first, your monsters or opponent's monsters. This approach can not be used due to Healed Out ruleset
  3. Using high health monster with some armor or protect ability. Same as using healing monster strategy, but this one is more offensive position.

If you don't like those 3, then try using Brighton Bloom as your summoners, he gives every monsters flying abilities and this negates Earthquake ruleset effect.

So here is my plan:

PositionCardAbilityPlan and Strategy
SummonerBrighton BloomFlying Abilities to allThe goal simple, get everyone flying to make Earthquake Ruleset effect annuled
Main TankTorhilo the FrozenVoidI think Torhilo is the best tank available. It has high armor, high health and Void Ability to withstand magic attacks.
SecondDjin OshannusVoidThis is my secondary tank, incase Torhilo gets killed fast. Same as Torhillo, Void becomes my main preference, because of Healed Out Ruleset, usually people will go with magic attacks to by pass Armor.
ThirdDeep LurkerOpportunityThis is killing power in my team. 3 melee attacks with opportunity, it will seek out opponent healers and magician by passing main tank.
FourthVenari WavesmithProtectOne of a great support magician, old players know how good it was in the old days
FifthMerdaali Guardiannoneactually this is a flop in my formation, I forget about the Healing Out Ruleset. Should have picked Pelacor Bandit instead of her.
LastSand WormSneakMy favorite sneak attacker, a true backstabber with 5 melee damage

HERE COMES THE BATTLE!!!

If you want to see the battle directly, you can see it directly here:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_18967b3f3e5a412746da8485fac28b43&ref=dewabrata

It is a Water-dragons vs Earth Element battle. We can see opponent strategy is to get Kron activates the Last Stand Ability, but as silly forgetful as I am bringing Merdaali Guardian, I think he forgets too without healing ability it's kinda useless later.

bloom round 1.jpg

Round 1

  • It's a true arm wrestle, both sides deals damage but nothing lethal because both sides bring a Protect ability support. Its a battle of Wavesmith vs Mycelia

bloom round 2.jpg

Round 2

  • Deep Lurker kills their Goblin Thief. This make my Sand Worm safe from their one and only sneak attacker

bloom round 3.jpg

Round 3

  • Deep Lurker kills their Mushroom Seer. This eliminates their Silence Debuff, which mean my Oshanuss can start damaging their Unicorn Mustang.
  • Sand Worm kills their Kron the Undying. The biggest threat is gone now.

bloom round 4.jpg

Round 4

  • Deep Lurker kills their Queen Mycelia.
  • Sand Worm kills their Goblin Psychic. It's All over

bloom round 5.jpg

bloom round last.jpg

Round 5 to 8

Unicorn Mustang, as one of the best tank, performs very well and maybe without Earthquake rulesets, I won't win against that horse...

The Key Winning Point are:

  • I think opponent line up was a bit messy, he got fixated with Llama-Kron duet, when his Kron The Undying died due to sneak attacks, it seemed he didn't put any backup plan in the formation.
  • Bloom makes me free to pick any monsters from any elements, negate the headache picking earthquake-proof monsters only.

MY OPINIONS AND REVIEW

brighton bloom stats.jpg

I think almost all dragon summoners are special, for example this Brighton Bloom, he can negate Earthquake ruleset. I always bring level 1 to level 3 brighton bloom in Silver League incase I meet that ruleset. I do not bring higher or maximum level because the rent rate for this summoner is not cheap.

The PROs are:

  • Dragon Summoner, he can bring in dragon monsters which all are a bit over power
  • Negate EarthQuake rulesets
  • Maximize Reverse Speed rulesets. He can make your 1 speed monster become harder to hit due to flying which increase 25% chance of evading.

The CONs are:

  • no attribute / stats buff
  • Vera Salacia, a water summoner who gives snare to all her monsters, is Brighton Blooms killer, because snare ability makes flying ability useless.
  • Dice pack Summoners aren't cheap, so it's not attractive to buy them for future investment. Renting max level for each league has the same issue too, unless you are participating in tournament or challenging Leader Board rewards.
