Who Counters Whom?

Hello Splinterland Summoners

As usual, I am writing some Splinterlands content during my weekend. In this opportunity I will share one of my interesting battle which I believe most players will miss out some details and they think oh... how can it be like that?

The question pops out because they think the result is a bit bizzare, or maybe some RNG luck decides the victor. For some cases, you can say that, but not for a few cases. In a few cases, the victor is someone we think the one who is in bad condition or in a weaker position.

That's why this post subject I set as...

WHO COUNTERS WHOM?

Because in a few battle, the stronger one is actually get countered but they do not realize that. They fail to notice that their opponent has the counter for their meta. So let see a battle which reassembles that condition.

The Battle

This is a very interesting battle to me. In general my opponent came with a very over powered line up. He had that Black Foil Kayla Silverleaf the arcane. His line up consisted of 3 max level units, and the rest were still higher leveled than my units.

Speaking about counter, their line up was the one who came to counter their opponent. We had FIRE AND REGRET as one of the ruleset or modifier, so having any range unit was a risky move or we could say a bad or stupid choice. So everyone would have a full mage squad in their first though, that's why Kayla Silverleaf was one of the best choice.

Did I ignore that one? not really, I had that in my mind too that's why I had Ujurak BVrave as my tank

He had that Silence Ability and I hoped it was more than enough to help my team against magic attack. I did not scare he would die first, because we had Aimless modifier too. So I expected the range and magic attacks would not land on him.

So let's see how this battle progressed...

We had an ambush round here. It came from my Warborn Shaman. We would not talk about the ambush, but we would talk about the situation we could see during the ambush.

1. They had 7 melee damage and 6 magic damage. Those 6 magic damage would be scrambled due to Aimless Modifier.
2. My team had 1 melee damage and 8 magic damage. Those magic damage would be scrambled too.
3. Here the fact, in this screen we would see that they countered my team. My tank would face their Folem Flameye which had Thorn Ability.

Let say, I would lose right? the fact was not like that. My team was countering their meta. Here were the conditions that decribed my counters:

1. I had backline tank, that bellow mancer. He would hold off that Buttercup Mauler 4 melee damage.
2. I had 3 mages with each had 2 magic damage. if 3 of them landed the same target, that target would be died.
3. My opponent dispersed their target, they had a sniper, a sneak attacker and I had Corrupted healing that could counter a disperse attack pattern.

so let see the result...

Round 2 started with their team was in the lead. You might think I just big talked above lol. Here was the deal, if they manage to kill my Arachne Weaver who had only 2 health remaining, they would definitely win this battle. IF they failed, the RNG was not on their favor, their would lose badly in round 3.

They failed to kill my Arachne Weaver. No attack hitting him at all. As the result, round 3 started with a disadvantaged on their team. They lost their strongest unit, Mindless Thrall. not only that, most of my units were faster than their units, so from round 3, my team moved first and they could only moved after some of them got killed.

The result was a one sided slaughfest. They were losing their units one by one.

The battle ended in Round 5. None of my team got killed. It was not a complete one sided battle, as you could see some of my units were near death too. However in this battle, my team was actually the one that countered their meta.
