7 MUST buy cards in Splinterlands

The following is not financial advice.

Splinterlands' unique economy allows renting to be possible. But there are some cards I feel one must own. The reasons are manifold.

• I believe these cards will only appreciate
• The ROI of buying vs renting is more
• Some of these cards will become scarce
• They are mostly staples in a regular silver deck

So, without much further ado, here are the 5 cards, in my opinion that are worth buying.

1 - Sandworm: I love this card. I cannot believe this is a common card. It is great for high mana matches, great for common and rare restrictions, at lower levels it is awesome in the reverse speed skillset. At $0.7 per bcx it is a steal. However, if you're going for lvl 3, it makes sense to buy a gold card since there is not much price difference.

Common neutral card with high damage? Yes, please.

2 - Axemaster: An essential part of the water splinter, this is a reward card which means that no more of this card will be printed. This double damage card is devastating even at lvl 1.

Get' em while you can. This card holds its average value pretty well.

3 - The fiends are your friends: The zero mana cards introduced in the chaos series usually rent out about 7-8 dec per day. It’s better to buy them since they are sometimes the difference between victory and defeat in low mana battles.

4 - Unicorn Mustang: A multi-purpose rare card that not only withstands magic but is also great as a melee card with high agility. Paired with goblin psychic or wood nymph, it makes for an almost impenetrable front card.

It is towards the pricey side but an average of 10 dec in rent per day, it is a good investment.

5 - Halfling Alchemist: The unique card with the halving ability will not be printed again. It is a promo card which is the only card up until now to possess this ability. Even at level 1, it offers great value in low mana battles.

For me, what makes this more valuable is the uniqueness and exclusivity.

6 - Serpentine Spy: At $2.6, and a per day rent of 10 dec, it is a great investment. A high agility opportunity card with low mana, it is versatile for many rules.
Its biggest advantage is how unique it is and can be used for both modern and wild format.

7 - Robo- Dragon Knight: This beast of a card is an amazing defense against melee and ranged due to its high armor and against magic due to void. It is a no-brainer in high mana battles.

There you have it! As you can tell, most of these cards are reward cards and limited in number. Their inherent value vis a vis the market remains proportional. Also, their multiple uses make them great for a lean team.

I have not listed any summoners here since I feel Summoners are more volatile. Also, the price difference in level up is tremendous. But it is up to you in case you want to go that route. For me, since my league fluctuates between silver and diamond, it does not make sense to invest that much in them.

Match-winning cards that are cheaper compared to long - term renting are my strategy to invest.
