From Zero to Hero

Welcome to my post, "From Zero to Hero." Here, I'll be sharing my journey of playing Splinterlands, without investing any money and only renting cards. I'll be documenting my seasonal progress and sharing the strategies I've used to get as far as possible. With dedication and hard work, I'm determined to show that it's possible to become a Splinterlands hero even without a significant investment. So, come along on this adventure with me and discover what it takes to go from zero to hero.

The account "papaplatte" was originally created by a friend of mine who received a free spellbook code from the Wasder App. Unfortunately, he stopped playing after just a few days. However, I saw the potential to do the "From Zero to Hero"-Journey.

How does is work?

At the beginning of each season, my strategy involves renting a strong deck through the NFTy Arcade Gateway. This way, I can avoid having to make any significant investments and instead, I simply share my rewards with the owner of the cards. Renting a high-quality deck through the NFTy Arcade Gateway is a win-win situation for both myself and the deck owner. This approach allows me to access powerful cards that I may not be able to afford otherwise, while the owner can earn rewards for their unused cards.

Find a guild

Finding a guild is crucial to achieving our goals. With access to a supportive community, we can work together to earn Merits, which can be used to purchase Gladius Cases and obtain valuable Gladiator Cards. Additionally, being part of a guild can provide us with opportunities to participate in competitive gameplay through Brawls. By competing alongside other skilled players, we can earn SPS and accumulate even more Merits to further our progress in the game. Overall, finding a guild is a key step towards achieving our goals and becoming successful.

Earn SPS

Earning SPS is an important part of our progress. We can earn SPS by achieving victories in ranked gameplay and participating in Brawls. Accumulating SPS allows us to trade some of it for DEC, which we can then use to enter small tournaments. Additionally, we aim to build up our staked SPS, which will enable us to participate in larger tournaments hosted by Splinterlands. By focusing on earning and accumulating SPS, we can increase our competitiveness in the game and achieve our long-term goals.

Personal Recap

Looking back at the season, it was quite a journey. I had a tougher time than expected in bronze league, but once I made it to silver, I ran through it with ease. After I reached gold, I managed to keep the rating above 2800 and even peaked at 2925, which was a great accomplishment. But what I am most proud of is the fact that I earned above-average chests, which included some valuable additions to our collection. As a result, my owned power increased from 0 to 3215, which is a significant improvement. Overall, while there were challenges along the way, I am pleased with the progress I made and am excited to see what the next season holds for me.
