BATTLE MAGE SECRETS ✶ BORN AGAIN ✶ SECOND GO

The ruleset for this week's challenge

• Born Again - All units receive the Rebirth ability which allows them to self resurrect once

The ruleset that I managed to get

• Rulesets - Born Again & Keep Your Distance
• Mana Cap - 22
• Active Elements -

Here's my starting lineup

Summoner: Obsidian

• With this ruleset that I got there were a couple of good options for a summoner I decided to go with Obsidian and her +1 magic damage
• I latter understood that Immortalis who was also available to me would've been a lot better option

1st Position: Fungus Flinger

• Love this card so much because of his Martyr ability
• I especially love this ability in battles with a Born Again ruleset so it can trigger twice
• Martyr - When a unit with the martyr ability dies in a battle, it gives adjacent characters +1 to all stats

2nd Position: Mycelic Slipspawn

• Mycelic Slipspawn was my main tank for this battle
• Together with two Martyr triggers he was going to be a big monster
• Taunt - All enemy units target this unit(if they are able to)
• Forcefield - This unit takes only 1 damage from attacks with power 5+

3rd Position: Furious Chicken

• Nothing to really say here other than why not play him he costs 0 mana

4th Position: Chaos Agent

• Another low mana monster just to tank some damage
• For 1 mana you get 3 speed, 3 hp and the Dodge ability
• Dodge - Has an increased chance of evading melee or ranged attacks

5th Position: Creeping Ooze

• Love this card so much for two main reasons
• One is that for 1 mana you get a monster who can just tank 1 or 2 attacks
• And the other reason was his Slow ability
• Slow - Reduces the speed of all enemy units

6th Position: Wood Nymph

• For last but not least this great healer card
• Even tho his stats aren't amazing I truly love his Tank Heal ability
• Tank Heal - Restores a portion of the unit in the first position's health each round

Starting board

• After seeing the starting board I was quite scared because his summoner pick was definitely better than mine
• But the battle was still yet to begin so lets start it up and have a look

Here's how the battle went

1st Round

• After 1st Round I understood I made a big error positioning my monster allowing him to kill my Mycelic Slipspawn before he gets to the 1st Position to be healed there
• This round kinda gave me a hint that this battle was going to be a loss of the bat

2nd Round

• After 2nd Round my Mycelic Slipspawn was almost dead already
• I managed to kill his Venari Marksrat twice but I felt like this didn't really matter anymore because I didn't have enough time to heal my Mycelic Slipspawn even if he would've been in the 1st Position by now which he wasn't

3rd Round

• In the 3rd Round my Fungus Flinger died once but it wasn't enough my Mycelic Slipspawn had only 1 hp left

4th Round

• 4th Round gave me a glimpse of hope after my Mycelic Slipspawn was healed to 4 hp but my enemy had just to much damage for him to survive long enough to kill any of my enemies monsters

5th Round

• in the 5th Round nothing really happened but in the start of the next round my Mycelic Slipspawn was going to get killed once for sure

6th Round

• 6th Round came and went
• The board looked almost the same as in the start but my Mycelic Slipspawn had lost his Rebirth
• He was now definitely dying in the 7th Round and the battle was 100% over I just didn't have enough damage left

9th Round

• It took my enemy 3 rounds to kill all my remaining monster
• After all of them were dead I had lost the battle fair and square

Summary

• This battle was quite even and fun to watch
• I wasn't far from winning this battle but loss is a loss
• The battle came down to my poor summoner pick and positioning
