BATTLE MAGE SECRETS ✶ BRIAR PATCH
The ruleset for this week's challenge
- Briar Patch - All units receive the Thorns ability at the start of the battle. Enemy units that use melee attacks receive damage back
The ruleset that I managed to get
- Rulesets - Briar Patch & Rise of the Commons
- Mana Cap - 34
- Active Elements -
Here's my starting lineup
Summoner: Immortalis
- With the ruleset that I got Immortalis was just the perfect summoner to go with
- Mostly because of the Void ability he gave to my whole team as my enemy was most likely going to play magic damage team
- And if my enemy was going to play someone with armor I had it covered with the Shatter ability
1st Position: Mycelic Infantry
- Mycelic Infantry was my main tank for this battle
- Even tho Briar Patch was active I still felt like my enemy might play melee tank
- Main reason I like Mycelic Infantry here a lot is hes Shield ability
- Shield - Reduced damage from melee and ranged attacks
2nd Position: Creeping Ooze
- Love this card so much because of how many stats you get for low mana
- For 1 mana you get 1 melee damage, 1 speed, 2 hp and also the Slow ability
- Slow - Reduces the speed of all enemy units
3rd Position: Goblin Thief
- Low mana cost melee monster with Sneak
- Even tho he is melee monster and was going to die in 3 attacks I was hoping he would get at least one kill maybe two if lucky
- For 4 mana you get 3 damage (with Sneak), 4 speed and 4 hp
- Sneak - Targets the last unit on the enemy Team instead of the first unit
4th Position: Mushroom Seer
- Love this card so much because of his Silence ability
- Silence - Reduces the magic attack of all enemy units
5th Position: Wood Nymph
- Wood Nymph was the first healer card in my team
- Even tho you don't get a lot of stats for 4 mana you do get the Tank Heal ability which I really like
- Tank Heal - Restores a portion of the unit in the first position's health each round
6th Position: Goblin Psychic
- And another healer just cause why not
- Even tho he costs 2 mana more then Wood Nymph you get better stats
- Tank Heal - Restores a portion of the unit in the first position's health each round
- Affliction - When a unit with Affliction hits a target, it has a chance of applying Affliction on the target causing it to be unable to be healed
Starting board
- The starting board didn't really say anything other than that I had one more healer than my enemy and also my melee tank had Shield
- So that led me to believe I had a small advantage over my enemy
- But to be sure let's start the battle and have a look
Here's how the battle went
1st Round
- In the 1st Round I managed to kill two of my enemies monsters
- Sadly I saw that my Goblin Thief was going to die next round was not be able to get another kill
- Also my Mycelic Infantry was getting quite low already but I was hopeful that my two healers could heal him up before he dies
2nd Round
- After 2nd Round the board looked quite the same as after 1st Round
- Only my Goblin Thief died and got nothing for it sadly
- Now I just needed to land my Affliction to out damage my enemies healer
3rd Round
- In the 3rd Round I managed to hit my Affliction and kill his Pelacor Mercenary
- Now I was 100% sure I was going to win this battle so it was just a matter of time when I was going to take down every single standing enemy monster
4th Round
- In the 4th Round I took down his Venari Marksrat
5th Round
- After I took down my enemies second to last monster only one stood between me and the victory
6th Round
- It took me 1 turn to kill my enemies last standing monster
- After hes Goblin Psychic had fallen I took the victory

Summary
- This battle was definitely heavily one sided but still fun to watch
- I took some risky moves playing melee monsters in battle were Briar Patch was active but it payed off
- But in my opinion the biggest difference came from card levels
