The ruleset for this week's challenge

image.png

  • Counterspell - All units receive the magic reflect ability at the start of the battle

The ruleset that I managed to get

image.png

  • Rulesets - Explosive Weaponry & Counterspell
  • Mana Cap - 20
  • Active Elements - image.png image.png

Here's my starting lineup

Summoner: Contessa L'ament

  • With this ruleset I believed that my enemy would play either melee or ranged so Contessa L'ament was somewhat counter pick
  • I also didn't really have any other summoners that would suit in this ruleset
1st Position: Harklaw

  • Harklaw was my main tank for this battle
  • Main reason I like Harklaw here a lot is hes Shield ability
  • Shield - Reduced damage from melee and ranged attacks
  • Immunity - This Unit is immune to negative status effects
2rd Position: Venari Marksrat

  • Because Explosive Weaponry was active Venari Marksrat was perfect 2nd position monster
  • The only reason for him was to get killed and buff 1st and 3rd position monsters
  • Martyr - When this Unit dies, adjacent Units get +1 to all stats
3nd Position: Uraeus

  • Love this card so much because of how many stats you get for low mana
  • For 3 mana you get 2 melee damage (with Sneak), 2 speed, 1 armor and 2 hp
  • Sneak - Targets the last unit on the enemy Team instead of the first unit
4th Position: Haunted Spider

  • I picked Haunted Spider for two reasons
  • First because of hes great stats + the low mana cost
  • And the second reason was hes Poison ability
  • Poison - Attacks have a chance to apply poison, which does automatic damage to the target at the beginning of each round after the poison is applied
5th Position: Corpse Fiend

  • Next up in line is first lovely 0 mana card
  • Nothing to say here other than why not play him if you have room for him he costs 0 mana
6th Position: Furious Chicken

  • And for last but not least is another 0 mana cost monster
  • The same applies as the last one
  • they both serve a role as backline tanks

Starting board

image.png

  • The starting board didn't really say anything about how the battle might end
  • It seemed quite even so lets start the battle up and have a look

image.png

Here's how the battle went

1st Round

image.png

  • After 1st Round my plan had worked
  • My Venari Marksrat died and buffed my team
  • Also I already managed to kill one of my enemies monsters and now all the Blast damage was going to hit his damage dealers
2nd Round

image.png

  • 2nd Round was so big for me
  • My Ureaus managed to out speed my enemies Cursed Windeku and got two kills with one attack
  • And also I managed to deal a lot of damage to his Cursed Windeku and also poison him so was basically dead after 2nd Round
  • This was also the round where I became 100% sure that I would win this battle
3rd Round

image.png

  • In the 3rd Round my enemies Cursed Windeku finally died and now it was just down to defeating the last standing monsters
  • I also managed to poison his last standing monster not that it would matter because the last monster was ranged damage and couldn't attack anyway
4th Round

image.png

  • It took me 2 turns to kill my enemies last standing monster
  • After hes Ravenhood Warden had fallen I took the victory
  • Battle Replay Link

Summary

  • This battle was definitely heavily one sided but still fun to watch
  • I believe the strategy to take away from this battle is the Martyr ability in the 2nd position when Explosive Weaponry is active
  • If you also would like to hop on the Splinterlands train feel free to use my Referral
