The ruleset for this week's challenge

  • Even Stevens - Only units with even mana costs may be used

The ruleset that I managed to get

image.png

  • Rulesets - Even Stevens, Maneuvers & Counterspell
  • Mana Cap - 31
  • Active Elements - image.png image.png image.png image.png image.png

Here's my starting lineup

Summoner: Mylor Crowling

  • With this weeks challenge the specific summoner type doesn't really matter
  • In my case as earth was active I settled for Mylor Crowling as his ability is super strong in my opinion
  • Thorns - When hit with a Melee attack, does 2 Meele damage back to the attacker
1st Position: Flesh Golem

  • Flesh Golem was my main tank for this battle
  • Main reason I like Flesh Golem here a lot is his Heal ability
  • Heal - Restores a third of the max health to this Unit's health each round
2nd Position: Biceratops

  • Biceratops was picked just because he had 1 armor and with Maneuvers active he was also able to attack from the second position
  • Even tho For 4 mana Maneuvers isn't the greatest monster to play Even Stevens ruleset really took a lot of my options away from me
3rd Position: Clockwork Aide

  • I was really hoping my enemy wouldn't play any magic because of Counterspell was active
  • If you enemy doesn't play any magic, Clockwork Aide is a great tank for low mana
  • Clockwork Aide also has a great ability from lvl 1
  • Swiftness - All friendly Units have their Speed increased by 1
4th Position: Parasitic Growth

  • Next up in line is this lovely monster with Opportunity
  • For 4 mana you get 2 melee damage (with Opportunity), 1 speed and 3 hp
  • Opportunity - Units with the Opportunity ability may attack from any position and will target the enemy Unit with the lowest health
5th Position: Goblin Thief

  • And another monster with the ability to damage my enemies backline
  • For 4 mana you get 2 melee damage (with Sneak), 3 speed and 4 hp
  • Sneak - Targets the last Unit on the enemy Team instead of the first Unit
6th Position: Hunter Jarx

  • Hunter Jarx was my backline tank for this battle
  • Also his has some quite amazing stats being 3 ranged damage (with Snipe), 2 speed and 7 hp
  • Snipe - Targets the first enemy Unit with Ranged, Magic, or no attack that is not in the first position with Ranged or Magic attacks

Starting board

image.png

  • The starting board didn't really say anything other than luckily my enemy didn't play any magic damage and also played a lot of melee
  • If I could get through my enemies first 2 monsters the battle should be over as these two monsters only have enough damage to make a difference

Here's how the battle went

1st Round

image.png

  • 1st Round was a total disaster for me
  • My Flesh Golem died instantly and I didn't get anything for it
  • But I felt like I still had a chance in this battle
2nd & 3rd Round

image.png

  • After next two rounds the board was looking quite empty
  • I wasn't sure but it seemed to me like like the battle was in my favor because of Thorns even tho I didn't have much hp left
4th Round

image.png

  • Now I was 100% sure I was going to win this battle
  • If I manage to hit both of my attacks and he also gets the Thorns damage the battle should end in 5th Round
5th Round

image.png

  • It took me 1 round to kill my enemies last standing monster
  • After his Xenith Monk had fallen I took the victory
  • Battle Replay Link

Summary

  • This battle was definitely closer than I would've liked
  • I believe the battle came down to mostly summoner diff
