BATTLE MAGE SECRETS ✶ WHAT DOESN'T KILL YOU

The ruleset for this week's challenge

• What Doesn't Kill You - All units gain the Enrage ability which multiplies their speed and melee attack by 1.5x rounded up when damaged

The ruleset that I managed to get

Here's my starting lineup

Summoner: Tarsa

• With this weeks challenge I wanted to play a melee comp as What Doesn't Kill You was active
• I believed that the best team for that was in the fire element and who better than Tarsa with +1 melee and +1 health

1st Position: Grum Flameblade

• I was hoping that Grum Flameblade would become one huge monster with his Bloodlust and What Doesn't Kill You ruleset
• Only sad thing about this card in my opinion is hes speed
• Bloodlust - This monster revels in the glory of combat and becomes more dangerous as the battle goes on. Every time it defeats an opponent, it gets +1 to all stats

2nd Position: Fineas Rage

• Probably my favorite Reach monster
• For 7 mana you get 2 melee damage (with Reach), 5 speed, 1 armor and 8 hp
• Reach - Melee attack units with the Reach ability may attack from the second position on the team

3rd Position: Uraeus

• Great low mana cost melee monster with Sneak
• For 3 mana you get 2 damage (with Sneak), 2 speed, 1 armor and 2 hp
• Sneak - Targets the last unit on the enemy Team instead of the first unit

4th Position: Parasitic Growth

• Another low mana cost melee monster with Opportunity
• also great card, low mana good stats sadly only with 1 speed
• Opportunity - Units with the opportunity ability may attack from any position and will target the enemy unit with the lowest health

5th Position: Sand Worm

• I am always on the fence about Sand Worm as I feel like he just died too fast to do any damage
• But you just can't not play his huge 5 melee damage with Sneak
• Sneak - Targets the last unit on the enemy Team instead of the first unit

6th Position: Tenyii Striker

• The last melee in my team is Tenyii Striker
• He is a great monster backline for my team
• With Tarsa's +1 hp Tenyii Striker 7 hp will suit nicely in the last position
• And also he has Sneak so he is not otherwise useless in the back when nobody should be able to hit him
• Sneak - Targets the last unit on the enemy Team instead of the first unit

Starting board

• The starting board didn't really say anything other than we almost went with the same team and the battle could go either way

Here's how the battle went

1st Round

• The 1st Round was a total disaster for me
• My Grum Flameblade was half way dead and also my backline was at 1hp
• I only managed to take down armor from 3 of my enemies

2nd Round

• 2nd Round was huge for me
• My Grum Flameblade managed to get 2 kills one with Return Fire to his backline Lava Launcher and the other from killing my enemies Grum Flameblade
• With these 2 kills my Grum Flameblade max stats got high enough to make my Enrage give me +1 more damage and speed
• After this round I was quite sure I would now definitely win

3rd Round

• In the 3rd Round my Grum Flameblade got another kill and also my other monsters cleaned up the remaining backline of my enemies team
• To this point I had only lost my Sand Worm and Tenyii Striker

4th Round

• In the first turn of the 4th Round my Grum Flameblade did the final blow
• After hes Antoid Platoon had fallen I took the victory

Summary

• I was quite lucky in this battle but either way I got the win
• Something to take away from this battle in my opinion is that Bloodlust is so op if you can get some kills with it
