The Ruleset

image.png

  • Rulesets - Noxious Fumes
  • Mana Cap - 22
  • Active Elements - image.png image.png image.png image.png

Here's my starting lineup

Summoner: Mylor Crowling

  • With the ruleset and element pick that I got my first idea was to play fire element as I have the best team there when playing against Noxious Fumes
  • But when I tried to fit the whole comp in I quickly ran out of mana so I had do think of something else
  • So I settled with earth element as I had Heal + double Martyr combo there and also possible one of the best summoners Mylor Crowling
  • Thorns - Returns 2 physical damage to attacker when hit by a melee attack
1st Position: Halfling Refugee

image.png

  • Halfling Refugee was my first tank for this battle
  • Main reason I played Halfling Refugee here was that for 1 mana you just can not get more stats than with Halfling Refugee
  • Also as his ability is selfharm I played him first so he would mostly tank first attacks and then fall
  • Weary - At the beginning of round 1, Weary units have a 10% chance to become Exhausted. This chance increases by 10% every round, up to a maximum of 80%. Exhausted units skip their turn and cannot Retaliate
2nd Position: Fungus Flinger

  • Fungus Flinger was my first Martyr unit for this team
  • Both Martyr monster had only one goal for this battle and it was to get taken down and buff my other units
  • Martyr - When this Unit dies, adjacent Units get +1 to all stats
3rd Position: Flesh Golem

  • Flesh Golem was actually my main tank for this battle
  • Flesh Golem was played here mostly because his Heal ability and high stats (when buffed by double Martyr)
  • Heal - Each round, restores 1/3 of max health (rounded down)
4th Position: Venari Marksrat

  • Venari Marksrat was here just to get killed by Noxious Fumes and buff adjacent units
  • Martyr - When this Unit dies, adjacent Units get +1 to all stats
5th Position: Goblin Psychic

  • Goblin Psychic was my only healer for this battle
  • I actually did not really like him here but I kinda panicked as the time was about to run out on me
  • So I picked him and was hoping he would get at least some heals off
  • Tank Heal - Each round, restores 1/3 of max health (rounded down) to the allied unit in the first position
6th Position: Fungus Fiend

  • Last but not least was Fungus Fiend
  • Only played him because I had 0 mana left and one spot open
  • Also the reason why I played him in the back was that incase my enemy should decided to play Bloodlust monsters I would not just feed him for free
  • Leaving him in the back was probably totally useless but in a world where my enemy plays Sneak or something backline Fungus Fiend would block at least 1 attack

Starting board

image.png

  • After seeing the starting board I was quite scared about the outcome of the battle as my enemy was much higher level than I was
  • But he only played one low level Immunity monster so if I could stay alive long enough so Noxious Fumes takes out my enemies entire team for me
  • But my predictions could still be off by a mile so lets start the battle and have a look

image.png

Here's how the battle went

1st Round

image.png

  • First round was a total disaster for me
  • I had already lost my first tank with I only doing 3 damage to my enemies Mycelic Slipspawn
  • But anything could still happen so lets keep watching
2nd Round

image.png

  • After 2nd Round my confidents sky rocketed as my Flesh Golem was still almost full hp with one more Martyr buff to come
  • Also when the 3rd Rounds stats the Noxious Fumes was going to take down one of his high level monster and damage the second to a point where my Flesh Golem can hopefully end him off
  • Lets hope for the best and keep watching
3rd Round

image.png

  • The 3rd round was huge for me
  • I managed to take down two high level monsters while losing only my Martyr monster who also buffed the remainder of my team
  • Now I just needed to wait for the start of the next round and then face my victory
4th Round

image.png

  • It took me 1 attack to kill my enemies last standing monster
  • After his Blackmoor Nymph had fallen I took the victory
  • Battle Replay Link

Summary

  • This battle was definitely heavily one sided but still fun to watch
  • The strategy to take away from this battle is the Heal + double Martyr combo in a Noxious Fumes battle

Noxious Fumes really tensed me out every time, but you literally pumped that tension up by using the Mylor Summoner. Using the Flesh Golem before the Venari Marksrat was a killer move and the results are visible in the 3rd round. Great strategy and a great match!
