The Ruleset

image.png

  • Rulesets - Earthquake & 'Tis But Scratches
  • Mana Cap - 34
  • Active Elements - image.png image.png image.png image.png

image.png

Here's my starting lineup

Summoner: Helios Matriarch

  • With the ruleset and element pick that I got I knew I needed to play someone from dragon element as I had Night Reaper there and I have started to like him a lot in Earthquake battles
  • So in my case I went with Helios Matriarch and picked death for my second element as there I had rest of my Flying team
1st Position: Halfling Refugee

image.png

  • Halfling Refugee was one of my main tanks for this battle
  • Main reason I like Halfling Refugee here a lot is his high stats for low mana
  • Even tho Halfling Refugee is a selfharm monster I still played him as I felt like he gonna tank a lot of attacks and fall before he gets a chance to affect my team
  • Weary - At the beginning of round 1, Weary units have a 10% chance to become Exhausted. This chance increases by 10% every round, up to a maximum of 80%. Exhausted units skip their turn and cannot Retaliate
2nd Position: Pelacor Deceiver

  • Pelacor Deceiver was my second tank for this battle
  • Another great tank with Flying for low mana
  • Flying - +25% chance to evade physical attacks. No effect if the attacker also has Flying. Immune to Earthquake
3rd Position: Creeping Ooze

  • Creeping Ooze was a little out of place for this battle but I played him because I was hoping maybe his Slow get my enemy to miss at least one or two of his attacks
  • Slow - -1 speed to all enemy units
4th Position: Usut

  • Possible my favorite Bloodlust monster out there
  • What makes him a great monster is his Heal ability which I sadly did not have for this battle as I do not have him in high enough level but what still made me play him was his Flying ability
  • Flying - +25% chance to evade physical attacks. No effect if the attacker also has Flying. Immune to Earthquake
  • Bloodlust - +1 to all stats after dealing a killing blow
5th Position: Night Reaper

image.png

  • Now for the main event
  • Night Reaper has become my favorite monster to play in Earthquake battles
  • His Wingbreak makes him a great monster to counter my enemy playing Flying monster and on top of that he also has Flying which makes him one of the best monster to play here
  • Flying - +25% chance to evade physical attacks. No effect if the attacker also has Flying. Immune to Earthquake
  • Wingbreak - Always targets the first Flying enemy unit regardless of position, abilities, or modifiers. +2 damage if the target has Flying
6th Position: Corpse Spawn

image.png

  • Corpse Spawn was the last monster I picked for this battle
  • The only reason was that I had 0 mana left and one open spot
  • And the reason I did not play him in front was that if my enemy should play a Bloodlust monster him self I might give him a free take down

Starting board

image.png

  • After seeing the starting board I was really on the fence where the battle might go
  • On one hand my enemy played a Brighton Bloom giving his whole team Flying which is amazing summoner for Earthquake battles
  • But on the other hand his team was only level one and I played Night Reaper with Windbreak which makes him deal 5 damage every attacks as my enemies whole team has Flying
  • But my predictions could still be off by a mile so lets start the battle and have a look

image.png

Here's how the battle went

1st & 2nd Round

image.png

  • After two rounds my board was looking quite badly damaged already which made me really scared
  • In the meantime I only managed to take down 1 enemy monster
  • But anything could still happen so lets keep watching
3rd Round

image.png

  • After 3nd Round my confidents was slowly coming back
  • Even tho we traded one to one with monsters in the 3rd round the overall board was looking much better now
  • Lets hope for the best and keep watching
4th & 5th Round

image.png

  • After the next two rounds I managed to clear up my enemies board really well
  • I took down 3 monster while my enemy did not get anything in return
  • Now I just needed to take down my enemies last monster and then face my victory
6th Round

image.png

  • It took me 1 attack to kill my enemies last standing monster
  • After his Dhampir Stalker had fallen I took the victory
  • Battle Replay Link

Summary

  • This battle was definitely heavily one sided in the end but still fun to watch as the first two rounds went only downhill for me
  • The strategy to take away from this battle is the not so basic but amazingly affective Wingbreak in Earthquake ruleset battles
  • In this case I also lucked out as my enemy played Brighton Bloom which grant his whole team Flying but made my team super effective

Your opponent used the Brighton Bloom for the flying ability, but he didnt expect you would come with the Night Reaper with windbreak ability. Moreover, your cards were also stronger than his. Amazing battle, keep playing and growing your SL account.
