Exploding Packs

I am afraid that my hopes of getting packs are exploding away just like these rats:

I hope not....what do you think a good price point to buy SPS to stake is? How much do you have staked already? Is it a better deal to get DEC, Plots, totems, Untamed packs....what are your thoughts...
