My Journey into Splinterlands (Campaign Mode Experience)

Hello Hivians and the Splinterlands community.
I finally made the decision to dive into games on Hive, specifically—Splinterlands. After reading a lot of posts for beginners, I found out that starting with the campaign mode is the best option. It allows you to learn the ropes of the game before moving to the wild world of PvP (player versus player) ranked battles.
What Campaign Mode Taught Me

As a beginner, campaign mode was the perfect training ground for a good understanding of how the game works. I learned about card positioning, speed, and magic attacks. I spent a lot of time figuring out how to maximize my team inside tight mana limits, placing a sturdy tank upfront and protecting my ranged attackers at the back. It actually taught me how to think strategically about every single card placement.
The Anchor Element Decision
I have finally reached the stage where I have to choose my primary anchor element. I am not really sure which one to choose yet, since this determines the strategy I will work with from here onward. After doing some research and practicing in the campaign, here is what I realized about the elements:
- Fire is fast and aggressive.
- Death weakens the enemy team.
- Life has great defensive healing.
- Earth looks highly impressive to me, especially the ability to use magic attacks to bypass enemy physical armor as a new player.
Jumping Into Real Battles

Now that I am wrapping up the campaign, the real test is about to begin. I haven't played a real PvP match against a human opponent yet. I know playing with a real human opponent with unpredictable strategies will be entirely different from the matches in the campaign, but it's time to move on to the real challenge.
I Would Love Your Advice
Since I am still new to the Splinterlands ecosystem, I would love to hear any advice from all the pros and experienced gamers out there.
- Which Anchor element did you choose when you started? Did you regret it?
- which one would you recommend I start with?
