Mercedes Mone's Move to AEW and Rene Dupree's Reaction

I must say, I’ve been watching wrestling for a while now so when I found out about Mercedes Mone making her debut in AEW after being in WWE for so long, it was quite an exciting move.

But then, there was this whole issue with Rene Dupree and her remarks on WWE which made me sit down and ponder for a minute.

First things first, let me just say that Mercedes is a skilled wrestler. After all, she has won 10 Women’s Championships at WWE; she sure knows what she’s doing inside the squared circle.

Furthermore, her mentioning she could possibly return to WWE someday didn’t bother me much. Wrestlers switch back and forth between promotions all the time right?

However, later on, Rene Dupree came out in his podcast and began speaking about how Mercedes’ comments were not respectful to Tony Khan and AEW.

In the beginning, I didn’t really comprehend it.

I mean, why would saying you may return to WWE someday be disrespectful to your new boss? However, after some deep reflections on this matter.

See, Tony Khan has put a lot of effort into building up AEW as a viable alternative to WWE. And when someone like Mercedes who is a big name in wrestling says that she might go back to WWE sometimes it seems like she is not fully committed to AEW if you ask me. As if she’s just testing them till a better opportunity comes along.

There is a reason why Tony Khan and the AEW people might not be pleased about it. They put in so much effort to make this place a home for wrestlers that would be committed to something extraordinary.

So if there is anyone who behaves like he or she does not care about AEW, the whole promotion may lose its specialness.

However, I can also see why Mercedes might decide to remain noncommittal. Wrestling is tough and unpredictable. Therefore, it could be that she is just being honest of what lies ahead with no intention of insulting anyone along these lines.

Well, that could be quite interesting if you ask me in relation to her possible public clash with Julia Hart and subsequent challenges for the TBS Championship.

Mercedes is a tough competitor, and watching her fight with an individual like Julia Hart would result in some amazing matches.

In addition to this, it would provide her with an opportunity to prove herself in AEW and demonstrate to all her capabilities.

Therefore, there’s a lot more than what meets the eye over Mercedes Mone’s shift to AEW and how Rene Dupree reacted when she commented about WWE.

Ultimately, I just hope everything works out well for everyone involved so we can witness some spectacular wrestling along the way.
