Lets start by saying this would rank some where in my low B to high C tier rankings. While it is not super impressive alone, it has its place in a battle as you will see later. It is really weakened by any of the anti-magic cards or rulesets and has very few rulesets that make it a must play.

Below is a silver level version of level 3. The 3 magic is powerful paired with Obsidian or Alaric but only meh for all other summoners. The 6 mana is not constituted with the medium health and low speed to accompany the magic damage.

With all that said it can be a great filler for matches that you are focusing on bringing a magic team and can definitely pack a punch when he gets rolling.

Battle

I have a nature focus so it was a good time to deal some magic damage and the mana cap was a high one so this card found a home in this lineup as extra magic damage.

Lineup Selection

Putting Grund up front to double strike as tank and a slipspawn in the rear to taunt away damage from the Grund was the first thought in choosing this lineup. Second was the spirit hoarder to heal the slipspawn. A really nice card for the ruleset was the Florre as a second tank with double attack types. Last two cards were the magi for this post and the Blight for its poison and it affliction.

Start

I felt like would I over power the opponent quickly. My damage output was higher. My total life was higher. I felt good.

This looks like an easy one. The unicorn and their slipspawn have fallen while mine was still getting triage heals. This will end soon.

So that was an easy win for a good team but did the magi really do anything to shine? I do not feel as though it did. The card has its place in the meta as it is a high DPS magic attacker that goes well with a higher mana match. I will leave by saying several battles were played with the magi today to get a feel for it more than original and the card still feels like a C tier card. Will I be using this card going forward? of course, will I get excited when the chance arrives to utilize it? Probably not.
