Splinterlands Diary 14.01.23 - Arachne Thug

Hi, Hive! I've said many times that I'm partial to dark aesthetics and love heavy music, so my favorite element in the game is, of course, Death, and in the last couple of weeks I've thoroughly upgraded my deck to Waka Spiritblade summoner.

Today I sell some CTP and made another purchase - a couple of Riftwatchers, and got Golden Foil Arachne Thug, an excellent melee fighter with the ability to attack from the second position.

Since I already had one, I decided to level it up and, of course, try it out in combat to see how much more efficient it was with more speed.

The nice thing is that in a few battles I had opponents with first level cards and summoners, but then I got a very interesting opponent with 3rd level Bortus and a classic Sea Monster on the first position. I often use a similar combo myself, so my strategy was as follows:

Cursed Windeku

A large amount of health, the ability to return damage to the opponent and, more recently, the ability to heal. A real tank and perfect for the first position.

Arachne Thug

It never hurts to attack the opponent's first position, especially if the card has the poisoning ability thanks to the summoner.

Furious Chicken & Corpse Fiend

Cards with the ability to attack the weakest monsters are pretty popular, so I used this pair of free cards as bait to create a distraction and a small advantage.

Revealer

Despite its rather modest speed and attack parameters, this mage has a wonderful Stun ability, and it's nice to see it paralyze your opponent's powerful cards into useless "walls".

Actually, my intuition didn't let me down and the battle went exactly as I planned - Cursed Windeku took the first hits, Arachne Thug poisoned my opponent's tank, and Revealer's paralysis was the final touch, after which the outcome of the battle became clear.

Watch

It was a pleasure to share my experience and I hope to see you on the battlefield!
