Splinterlands Diary 25.02.23 - Clockwork Aide

Hello brave warriors of the Splinterlands! It's been a tough week, but I'm glad to see that the new Soulbound Edition cards are coming out so frequently, and that you can make some very unusual and effective combos with them.

One such nice find is the Epic neutral card Clockwork Aide.

Despite its lack of attack and very modest health this card has a great shield and, most importantly, it gives a boost to speed, which makes it a great addition to Equalizer rule battles or strategies designed for fast attacking.

I used it with Fire in one of my battles and it was very cool!

My Lineup

Tarsa

Great summoner that gives extra attack points and life boosts, which is very useful in fights with low to medium mana.

Exploding Dwarf

Thanks to its Blast ability and very high speed, this seemingly weak card is excellent against Equalizer and, boosted by Clockwork Aide and the attack bonus of the summoner, is an ideal choice for the first position.

Clockwork Aide

Actually I decided not to hide this "wall" in the rear, and put it on the second position, in case the Dwarf is quickly out of the game, to give a small head start to my archers.

Pyrewatch Devil

Another novelty that I like to use in battles with the Close Range rule. I was counting on him boosting his health with Life Leech ability in the first couple of turns and being a pretty good defense for the remaining cards. In addition, the Cripple rule that works in combat makes it a great addition to attacking your opponent's first position.

Serpentine Spy

I often use Serpentine Spy in Equalizer battles, and his ability to attack the rear of the enemy has proven useful against hardcore archers.

Spark Pixies & Fire Elemental

I finish combos with speedy archers, who don't boast much health in normal fights, but make up for it with the highest speed. Again, boosted by Clockwork Aide they give me a good advantage in a swift long-range attack.

The opponent was very worthy and his choice of a new summoner to use gladiators looked very dangerous. He also had a Halfing Alchemist in his combo, which would mess with my attacks, and a very effective Tenyii Striker, whose attacks would do a lot of damage to my archers.

But my reliance on speed did pay off, and I managed to gain a significant advantage in the first round, taking away my opponent's first couple cards and dealing significant damage!

During the second round, I crushed his combos and went into the third round unscathed, leaving him with only Halfing Alchemist.

A quick and ruthless victory :)

Watch The Battle

Looking forward to seeing more Soulbound cards in my deck and continuing to experiment with card combos, so was very happy to share the experience and see you on the battlefield!
