First Focus Chest Rewards! - Learning Splinterlands

I wrote a post a couple days ago about learning the ropes in Splinterlands again as it's been a while since I last played. Months in-fact as I could never get the hang of Chaos Legions introduction.

A shorter version is I went with what I know and due to rentals being so cheap now It seemed an easy option some-what to get me back into the swing of understanding the cards I'm facing.
I rented the four cards above and they have carried me all the way up to 1300 rating pushing Bronze 2, I lack the CP to push into the other leagues but I may go about changing that soon depending on if I can truly get the hang of playing again.
Still, reverting to what I once knew with these rentals made it quite easy to win majority of my matches which thankfully were the Earth Splinter category.
This was quite shocking for me as I could barely win any games prior to these rentals and now I have 9 chests to open. I know it isn't a lot and I didn't expect anything to be perfectly honest with you but the enjoyment I received from playing has never been higher.
Added benefit is I secured myself 14 seasonal chests off that one evening grind!
Rewards were pretty decent I believe, considering my rank. Would have of course loved some good luck, perhaps a nice card I could sell to raise funds to purchase up my own deck but alas!
I've definitely had a tonne of enjoyment grinding my way through the Focus challenge, due to it being Earth I had a really, really fun and easy time of it. As it was the only class I know how to use anymore! But now I am back to square one!
I am aiming to source out relevant information for my kind of skill level, I'd love to know which cards are optimal for me to learn in these Bronze leagues, perhaps even a deck that could raise me to Silver but due to so many variables its incredibly hard to find information that can work for me. So I am struggling, but I guess focuses can help in that regard as If for example my Splinter today is Life, I will aim to find a respectable deck that's cheap enough to win me majority of my matches for them daily rewards!
It's still cheap to rent big cards to get enough collection power to jump leagues. You can even consider going to Silver III. That will you make hunt silver chests next season, but the reward shares is bigger to unlock. Less chests, more quality I think.
I'm honestly happy with anything as long as it'll counter-balance the cost for the rentals! 😂 Just need to learn how cards are being played again generally right now, I'm somewhat understanding it more now that focuses have been introduced as I can specifically try seek out the best deck for that days splinter and aim to work around learning solely "Life" for the day etc.

So far it can be done. Just rented yesterday à team with gold Mylor, gold and other golds, 80 something DEC. 17 chests, I lost 17 DEC, but without counting the cards and the season chests.
After yeah, my issue is how to not suck if my focus isn't earth :D

Hahaha! Glad to hear you and I are in the same boat with Mylor and Earth 😂 Definitely feel right at home using him at least! Tempted to purchase myself one so I have him on a permanent basis too 🤔
Oh by the way I checked out ListNerds after you mentioned it, can I ask how you make profit from it? I've always been a little lost on the CTP side of Hive 😅

Well, very basically, you click mails to get points. Once you have enough points, you send a mail too, promoting your blog or whatever. This mail is voted and once verified, you get Listnerds tokens. There used to be a floor buy, but it ran out 2 days ago. I guess 200 Hive to send a mail wasn't sustainable.
You vote mails too, based on your CTP staked there, count 0.25 CTP per day for each 100 staked (one mail voted per day)
All this without counting the staking rewards.
You can always give it a try, free unless you want to upgrade. You get to see interesting posts
Thank you my friend, definitely sounds interesting! I did like the reading of articles too from clicking interesting emails, can definitely see how that would help boost ones engagements/curation rewards.

I'm sure its intimidating coming back without a knowledge of all the new cards. I'm enjoying the new rewards system and playing a lot more than I was. The number of daily quests you can earn has been huge too - I'm increasing at about 120ish CP per day. At that pace, I may be able to play in gold without renting in a few months. The silver chests are rewarding that I'm earning now, but I'm hoping for gold chests next month and just open less. Need those gold foil and legendary cards!

You should definitely throw out a couple Splinterlands posts showing off your pulls I'd love to see them! It has been a little intimidating coming back but honestly since focuses have came in too, its made it so much less stressful for some reason. I tried to play a good three times the past few months and just get my ass handed to me, lose about 20-30 games without more than a single win in-between all the losses and I'm like okay, no more playing for me hahahaha
I'm glad to hear you've been enjoying it more now too! Good to hear it's been a positive for you, hopefully with the effort you're putting in too you'll definitely have a bunch of GF's and Legendries awaiting you 😉

I am quite happy seeing Bronze Loot chests finally play worthy... It's quite a double edge sword, on one side we can't have too high rewards because it will attract Botmongers, however if they are craps, no new players will come.
So I am quite irritated with people who keep pushing Bronze rewards to be nerf down based on the number of loot chests only.
I agree completely, the double edged sword conundrum is a hard one to solve, I don't agree with the cutting reward chests for Bronze players down either.
So many player are like myself who don't have a lot to invest in cards or rentals so I definitely will be stuck in the lower leagues for the foreseeable future and the only way I can get out and pushing for higher leagues is by converting my rewards to rentals.
I have to say props to the team for the recent changes they've made as it's definitely the first update in a long while that's not been a negative one (in my opinion) lets hope many more in the future to secure the longevity of this game.
