My First Splinterlands Battle Win and Worthy lessons

Hello Hivers

Yeah! I made it. My second splinterlands battle turned out a win and I'm excited about that. First moments are celebrated and I won't fail to celebrate mine. I'm consoled that my growth in the splinterlands game is real and tangible with this receipt.

It was a naïve attempt at first which I lost, but I think I had enough of the tutorials for novice I could lay my hands on and that guided my choice of summoner and monsters for the battle.

Here is the link to the battle. Winning the Modern battle at my second shot was a worthy of the celebration and that got me 25 rating points. It's an indication that the future of my engagement of this game is already secured.

How did it go?

With Wizard of Eastwood on the lead as summoner, I got Mycelic Infantry, Goblin Thief, Goblin Psychic and Venri Scout as my Four monster units. The battle was against Drake of Amak as Summoner with Six monster units.

Battle Start

The appearance of the enemy monsters look rather terrifying especially when the lead enemy monster had a -3 melee attack weapon and 10 health.

The battle started and lasted for 5 rounds and victory secured in my favour with neither of my monster units down. The health of my lead monster had been depleted to the last 1 when I defeated the enemy.

Battle ending

Above is the screenshot of the battle at start and end. There were many lessons to draw from the battle experience that found its application in real life scenarios. One of such lessons is that the strength of any team is not really on the number but on the quality of the members of the team.

Looking at 4 monsters against 6 looked intimating but looking closer at the abilities of my monsters would reveal how powerful they were.

I was favoured to choose monsters with higher speeds and they had more rounds of attack against the enemy than they received. Some of my monsters targeted the least rated monsters in the enemy team and ensured they were eliminated in the first Three rounds of the battle.

The win is worth my celebration for real and I see my future in this game quite encouraging. It was full of fun mixed with suspense until the battle ended which lasted about 2 minutes.

I would love to learn from your experience on how your first win sounded like. I think I am already enjoying myself in this blockchain based card game.
