Sps on the right path
Have been quiet on sps lately because I want to be sure of the future splinterland team has for sps and I think after many updates I think sps is heading in the right direction.
It was announced yesterday that sps will now be used in ranked battles, focus chests, season chests which make lot sense, and relieving some pressure off dec to make it more stable in the prices. Dec will be more stable because its supply will be decreased and I believe with this dec will go back to its peg.
On the hand, I believe the supply of sps will increase and this drive down the price of sps but there are two things I am excited about which I believe will prevent this and might further help in the development and stop how people exploit the game.
Auto staked
When you earn sps through ranked battles or focus chest or any of the options listed above it will drop to your wallet and after you claim it your sps will be staked for you and it will take 4weeks before you can withdraw it from your wallet.
Most hive users are used to this idea and we all know it is a good one this will encourage more users to stake their token for more rewards which will help the economy of the splinterlands. The stake sps will increase now as more people will hold for more reward because staked sps provide 30% apr.
Burn sps-dec
As there will be a lot of scarcity of dec it makes a lot of sense burning sps for dec. This also provides more use cases for sps. The mechanism is also used for hive and hbd and has worked so well without any problem till now. I don't think there should be any problems because burning sps will only decrease the supply of sps.
Many people have complain about rewards lately because they believe the game have been less rewarding but with sps their is now more rewards to circulate around.
Conclusion
I still don't know how people will respond to this but this definitely a good update based on my perspective and not only for sps but for dec also and after the announcement dec has rise 28% since then because people understand how dec will boost coming few weeks and with rift watcher pack coming and this update I think it better

I saw the changes and I plan on putting some SPS into the SPS/Hive pool. I put around half of my SPS over into the pool because I expect more people to be using the liquidity pool and I get some SPS from being in the pool.

I like the auto stake of SPS, it should help give the token some value couple with burning of SPS for DEC, am generally happy with the announcement.
