Winterfest Gift Boxes are Available!

I honestly hadn't paid much attention to the Winterfest announcement until yesterday, and with it coming up I spend some time looking into it. Gift boxes (which you can also open yourself), its a festive bit of marketing, I like the idea of skins, so what is actually going on here?

So let's check it out together!

Of course my eye is always drawn to the max, the biggest box, the best value. Splinterlands in the past has been known for its legendary "whale discounts", and while they have toned this back recently, generally bulk is best. Luckily perhaps for me, the biggest best maximum value is: $100 dollars.

So what exactly is in there? Is it a good deal? Well before we dig into that, let me just TL;DR you - I determined it to be a really great deal for our team!

We have been needing some potions, so I was really eyeing up that Glint, and it is my belief that the Alchemy packs are the best - take a look yourself at all that these Magnificent Gift boxes have to offer:

So there are a lot of "fun items", I will include the skins, the new token badges look like a lot of fun, I had to look them up - they seem be a placeholder for future airdrops of skins (which I have always been a big proponent of as "non-monetary" content), I had to look them up in the original announcement post.

Beyond that, we also get 10% back in credits for whatever size boxes are bought. This is nothing to sneeze at, and I think it rounds out the gift boxes nicely, along with the guarenteed packs, as I mentioned I am all in on the alchemy packs.

But its the Glint drops, so important for consumables and reward cards, and well as Energy, what you actually need to play the game, that I think is so exciting. These boxes cannot fully be appreciated by someone who is not playing the game. These are boxes for players, mostly.

Now I don't know what to say about the prize entries - obviously I want as many as I can get and no matter how many I get I will be hoping furiously to win all the prize drops I can. Black foils please, we are all about those black foil cards. Its a luck based thing, which is feast or famine generally so hard to really know what it means - beyond "fun" - which it is! Its more fun when I win though!

For now, I know what I am most excited about...
