My Very First Splinterlands Pack Opening - Bring On The Legendaries!!!

First Ever Packs Purchased

Today was the very first time I got to open a pack in #Splinterlands. In order to buy these packs, I first had to patiently wait for the General Sale of #ChaosLegion. The sale opened up to the public at 11 AM CST and I had my purchase completed within the first 2 minutes. It appeared that over 1 million packs sold within the first 10 minutes!

Hold Or Open?

The initial debate with these packs is do you open them right away or sit on them for a little while to earn airdrop points that lead to a daily SPS payout...

Well my debate was short lived because I happened to check the Splinterlands discord when they made an announcement about credit purchases lagging behind and I happened to see a few people mentioning their very first pack had a Legendary or maybe even a coveted GOLD FOIL LEGENDARY!

That pumped the excitement and made me rationalize that I can open just ONE pack now and decide on my others later.

What Was Inside? ~ How Many Legendaries?

The moment of truth arrived and man it did NOT disappoint!

I started with the top row and flipped the fairly typical experience of 3 commons in a row: Lava Spider, Sunkai Harvester, and Riftwing.

Then I was caught a bit off guard because I clicked on card number 4 without thinking much about it and immediately realized I was a moment away from seeing a Legendary card in my very first pack!

I got a Legendary Soul Fiend!

Then it was down to the final card and this time I let the mouse hover over it to reveal my pack actually contained a 2nd Legendary card!

I got a Legendary Corpse Fiend!

One Legendary is already ahead of the game, but 2 in the same pack?!? That is a pretty awesome experience and story to share for my first ever pack in this game. #Play2Earn

This is hopefully the first of many great packs and also I hope to share multiple Gold Foil cards especially summoners, epics, and legendaries with you all!
