Splinterlands - Share Your Battle Weekly Challenge - Dragons
This is my first time participating in the #Splinterlands "Share your battle" weekly challenge. This week the theme was DRAGONS!!!
I have 2 battles to share with you and will first provide a general overview of how I utilize some Dragons into my team.
Summoner
In order to play any dragons, you have to pick a dragon summoner who then lets you add a regular splinter on top of any dragon monsters you may have.
Pretty much my main go-to for this is Brighton Bloom because I like the addition of flight which helps evade enemy attacks. Since I do not own a Brighton Bloom, I decide to rent a level 2 so that I can utilize a couple of leveled up monsters that I own.
Dragon Monsters
Djinn Chwala is an easy go-to for my tank because of the high shield and health, decent attack, and thorns is an excellent ability. I own a level 2 and would need a higher level summoner if I decide to upgrade mine to level 3 which would be pretty worthwhile because it adds an extra shield and health for the one level bump.
The second position is a great spot for a melee card with the reach ability; I utilize Twilight Basilisk for this position. At level 2 he gains an extra attack point and having just 1 shield helps keep him around for an extra hit most of the time.
Naga Assassin is nice because she is low mana cost and has high speed to possibly dodge a few sneak attack hits when she is at the very back of the team.
Non-Dragon Monsters
To keep this from getting too long, I will just briefly discuss the other monsters and skip on their specific card images.
In the first battle my only other addition was a Furious Chicken because I didn't have enough mana for any other card and the Chicken is a 0 mana card. He was put in the 2nd position to either take a snipe shot, absorb a blast, or mainly to give my Naga Assassin one more chance to shoot because once she moves to the front spot, she can no longer attack with ranged damage.
Seeing the enemy with Mylor Crowling who provides the thorns ability to everyone, and Grund a very strong double attack tank, I was interested to see who would win this battle.
In the second battle I had no choice but to use the death team to compliment my dragons. This was a melee only rule-set and I knew I wanted to use Silent Sha-Vi for sure because of his strong sneak attack and high health so with 2 mana left I included another sneak attack monster, Undead Badger. Also to note; I did purchase a leveled up Silent Sha-VI so that gave me one extra point for both attack and speed.
First Battle
The flying ability granted me a few misses which is my usual hope and allowed my tank to stay alive to finish off their last monster just in time for their thorns to kill me. The Furious Chicken and Naga Assassin stayed alive through the end to secure my victory.
Second Battle
Once again the flying ability gave us a few misses in our favor and strangely enough the 1 speed difference (or 10% chance to miss) actually kicked in a few times against me. We still managed to win with 3 monsters still alive at the end.
Final Thoughts
I do enjoy using the Dragon team when I can. As you could see, flying is useful to avoid taking some hits; it is also very helpful in the Earthquake rule-set. Thorns is a great ability for your tank to have when going against melee monsters. Lastly even though not shown this time, the additon of a tank heal and/or repair can also help out this team and keep Djinn Chwala alive even longer.
Splinterlands is a great game to play and the fact that it is a #Play2Earn game makes it even better!
As usual, please consider following and liking the post, thanks!
