Splinterlands - Share Your Battle Weekly Challenge - Goblin Psychic

This is only my second time participating in the #Splinterlands "Share your battle" weekly challenge. This week the theme was GOBLIN PSYCHIC!

I have 1 battle to share with you and will first provide a general overview of why I selected Goblin Psychic and others for my team.

Summoner

Goblic Psychic is part of the Earth splinter so I first had to select an Earth summoner. Since my play for this battle was magic heavy, Obsidian was the obvious choice because she provides +1 magic damage to the team.

I currently have a Novice to Bronze level deck and in order to utilize a few of my leveled cards (both owned and rented) I need a level 2 summoner which I am renting.

Monsters

My main tank is Unicorn Mustang because it has good health and speed, decent attack, and void helps it take reduced magic damage. I only have a level 1, but if I did get around to renting level 2 it would add one additional health.

In the second position (mostly because I had 0 mana remaining) I have the Furious Chicken! This really can be a game winner at times because it absorbs one shot from the enemy and doesn't cost any mana to do so.

Magi of Chaos is a good card because it provides 2 base magic damage (3 after Obsidian's buff) and a respectable 5 health.

This week's themed card finally comes in at the 4th position. Goblin Psychic does 2 (3 buffed) magic damage while also providing a sometimes very crucial Tank Heal. I normally have a level 3 rented which provides 2 additional health to keep him around longer, but someone must have canceled on me without me noticing.

Spirit Hoarder is a Legendary card from the Chaos Legion Airdrops and I was lucky to be rewarded with one copy. Low attack, speed, and health is a fair trade off when he doesn't cost much mana, is a Neutral monster, and provides a rare ability at level 1, Triage. You will soon see how this ability pairs very well with our last monster.

At the very back of my line-up is Mycelic Slipspawn which turned out to be the only level 2 monster I played. The extra health at level 2 is a strong positive because with a taunt ability, almost every attack from the enemy will be thrown his way. He does have a high mana cost however and is a card I do not get to play that often.

My Battle

The 36 Mana Cap allowed me to play all these cards in one battle and the no sneak nor snipe rule-set let me know the rest of my back line had a better chance of being safe from attacks. I did however get 2 nerfs from the enemy summoner which were unfortunate to see. Minus one magic undoes the buff from my summoner and minus one health reduced my chances of being alive for those sometimes crucial extra turns.

Assuming you took the time to watch the battle, you would have noticed that Triage was a powerful ability that kept my rear taunt tank alive a little while longer. I also didn't need much healing from my Goblin Psychic because I managed to dodge a few of my enemy's attacks with the speed differential.

After 6 rounds I managed to pull off the win and only lost my Mycelic Slipspawn!

Final Thoughts

Earth is actually not one of my favorite splinters, but when I can pull off a team setup like the above, it is a fun experience. The survivability with healing both ends of the team coupled with magic damage that goes directly to the enemy's health can be a tough combo to beat.

If you want to acquire any of these cards for your own deck, be sure to check out #PeakMonsters or #MonsterMarket which are great websites to browse and purchase cards from.

@splinterlands is a great game to play and the fact that it is a #Play2Earn game makes it even better!

As usual, please consider following and liking the post, thanks!

I appreciate you stopping by and hope to see you again,

Hi! Just a quick note regarding topic-tags on Hive, hopefully this helps!

If a post doesn't necessarily reference PeakMonsters, then you don't have to include the #peakmonsters topic-tag. We advice you to use that slot for other more relevant topic-tags. Those who view the #peakmonsters topic-tag are more likely to look for content related to peakmonsters.com.

We do encourage you to write post about PeakMonsters, and then if you do, we tend to tip and vote on them from time to time. We look forward to those posts!
