Today I’m going to talk about Carrion Shade for the Share Your Battle Weekly Challenge! The Splinters I use the most are Death and Water. For this reason it wasn’t so hard to have the opportunity to use this card.

Hoje vou falar sobre a carta Carrion Shade para o Compartilhe sua Batalha Desafio Semanal! Os Splinters que eu mais uso são Morte e Água. Por essa razão não foi tão difícil ter a oportunidade de usar essa carta.

CARRION SHADE

I feel like Carrion Shade suffers from the Duck Syndrome, just a quick story 📖 to situate you of what I meant by that.

One day a Bird, Fish, Rabbit and a Duck was talking about what they would do if a Hunter shows up.

The Bird said: “I will fly as fast as a rocket, he won’t be able to shoot me”. The Fish said: “I’ll dive in the lake and swim very quickly.” The Rabbit said: “With my lightness I’ll run so fast that no one could catch me.”

The Duck showing superiority said: Poor guys, so limited! I’ll have no problem with the Hunter, I can run, swim and fly!

Right after this conversation a Hunter showed up, Bird flew, Rabbit ran and Fish dove. The Duck, however was caught. Even with all the skills, he didn’t develop any of them with excellence.

As the Duck, Carrion Shade it doesn’t have a bad speed, HP or damage considering he costs only 1 Mana Cost, at the same time it is not great at all if we compare with other cards such as Creeping Ooze (Slow), Shadow Presence (No Attack, but Good ❤️), Albatross (Similar atributes, but with superior abilities in higher levels) and all the Fiends/Chicken with 0 Mana. In other words: these cards serve their purpose very well.

Eu sinto que essa carta sofre da Síndrome do Pato, apenas uma estória rápida 📖 para vocês entenderem o que quero dizer. Um dia um Pássaro, um Peixe, um Coelho e um Pato estavam conversando sobre o que fariam se um caçador aparecesse.

O Pássaro disse: “eu vou voar tão rápido quanto um foguete, ele não será capaz de me acertar”. O Peixe disse: “Eu vou mergulhar no lago e nadar muito rápido!”. O Coelho disse: “Com a minha leveza vou correr tão rápido que ninguém conseguirá me pegar.”

O Pato mostrando superioridade disse: Coitados, tão limitados! Eu não vou ter problema nenhum com o caçador, pois, posso correr, nadar e voar!

Logo após essa conversa o caçador apareceu, o pássaro voou, o coelho correu e o peixe mergulhou. O pato, entretanto, foi pego! Apesar dele ter todas as habilidades ele não desenvolveu nenhuma com excelência.

Assim como Pato, Carrion Shade não tem uma velocidade, pontos de vida ou dano ruins considerando que custa apenas 1 de Mana, mas ao mesmo tempo não tem nada de muito bom se compararmos com outras cartas como Creeping Ooze (Devagar), Shadowy Presence (Sem Ataque, mas bom ❤️), Albatross (Atributos parecidos, mas com habilidades superiores em levels posteriores) e todas as Aranhas/Galinha de 0 Mana. Em outras palavras: essas cartas cumprem seu propósito muito bem.

STATS

Let's take a look on his stats and usability. He gains only one ability: Flying at level 3 and an additional damage at lvl 7. Leveling Up this card is very annoying since the benefits you gain are very low or even no additional atributes at all, but necessary to make him useful/competitive in higher leagues.

Vamos dar uma olhada rápida nos atributos e usabilidade. dele. ele ganha apenas uma habilidade: Voar no Level 3 e um dano adicional no lvl 7. Aumentar o nível dessa carta é uma das coisas mais irritantes já que os benefícios são pequenos ou até mesmo nulo, porém, necessário para torná-lo mais útil/competitivo nas ligas mais altas.

Strengths: it costs only 1️⃣ Mana, therefore it is good for low mana battles. His 2 HP is decent since he won’t die instantly against 1 Damage attack, serving as a punchbag to "waste" one attack of the opponent or even as a protection of the backline in position 6 against sneak attacks.

Forças: custa apenas um de mana, portanto, é ótimo para batalhas de mana baixa. Seus 2 HP é decente já que não irá morrer instantaneamente contra ataque de 1 de Dano, servindo de saco de pancada na posição 1 fazendo o oponente "desperdiçar" um ataque nele ou até mesmo protegendo a linha de trás na posição 6 contra ataques furtivos.

Weakness: it could be easily replaced by Corpse Fiend or the Furious Chicken, of course you could use both of them, but you’d need to spend one more position.

Fraquezas: poderia ser facilmente substituído pela Corpse Fiend ou Furious Chicken, é claro que é possível utilizar ambos na mesma batalha, mas você terá que gastar ocupando mais uma posição.

RULE SETS

Good Choice

• Earthquake: due to his Flying Ability (At Level 3) he won't suffer from Earthquake Damage.
• Equal Opportunity, Melee Mayhem and Super Sneak:he doesn't need to be in 1st position to attack and contribute for the Team 😃
• Equalizer: he will probably have more than 2 HP for just one Mana!

Boa Escolha

• Terremoto: devido a sua habilidade de Voar (No Nível 3) ele não sofrerá dano pelo Terremoto.
• Igualdade de Oportunidades, Caos corpo a corpo, Super Furtivo: ele não precisa estar na 1ª posição para atacar e contribuir com o time. 😃
• Equalizador: ele provavelmente terá mais de 2 HP por apenas 1 Mana!

THE BATTLE

Finally the battle! As mentioned before, Carrion Shade is good in low mana cap and Melee Mayhem, so it was an easy choice when I was picking my team.

In this Match Only Fire, Water, Earth and Death Splinter were available with 12 Mana Cap + Heavy Hitters (All Monsters have the Knockout Ability) + Melee Mayhem (Melee Attack Monsters can attack from any position).

Finalmente a batalha! Conforme mencionado, Carrion Shade é bom em partidas de mana baixa e Caos corpo a corpo, portanto foi uma escolha fácil quando estava escolhendo o time.

Nessa partida apenas Splinters de Fogo, Água, Terra e Morte estavam disponíveis com 12 Mana + Pesos Pesados (Todos os monstros possuem habilidade nocaute) + Caos Corpo a Corpo (Monstros de ataque corpo a corpo podem atacar de qualquer posição).

THE STRATEGY/LINEUP

Thaddius Brood: most of the monsters in low mana Cap usually have low HP (4-5 Max), so the minus 1 HP could be important. In case the opponent picked Obsidian (Earth), the -1 Magic Damage would debuff the mages. However, if he had Mylor Crowling it would probably be instant gg!

The Main Tank: Crypt Beetle's Shield ability is very crucial against melee attackers and have 2 Attack Damage at Level 5. Not only that: you probably faced this situation before and it is disgusting when it happens where your monsters couldn’t do any damage due to a debuff or even because you only had 1 Melee Damage monsters waiting to be slowly killed.

2nd and 3rd Position: There isn’t Much to say, I put Corpse Fiend and Carrion Shade respectively as they would be able to attack from anywhere costing only one mana total!

4th Position: I chose Uraeus for having a decent Damage and one armor, so the opponent would need to attack at least two times (considering melee/ranged attack) to kill him.

5th position: I expected that I would be facing some sneaky monsters, thus I put Chaos Agent for his Dodge Ability.

Thaddius Brood: a maioria dos monstros em partidas de mana baixa possuem HP baixo (4-5 Máximo), então o -1 de HP seria importante. Caso o oponente escolhesse Obsidian (Terra), o -1 de Dano Mágico iria neutralizar os magos. Entretanto, se ele escolhesse Mylor Crowling provavelmente seria GG instantâneo!

Tanque Principal: Crypt Beetle, a habilidade de Escudo é muito crucial contra ataques corpo a corpo, além de possuir 2 de dano no Level 5! Não apenas isso: você provavelmente já esteve nessa situação antes, onde seus monstros não conseguem causar nenhum dano por causa de algum efeito negativo ou até mesmo por ter apenas monstros com um de dano apenas esperando para serem mortos lentamente.

2ª e 3ª posição: não tem muito o que falar ou explicar, coloquei Corpse Fiend e Carrion Shade respectivamente já que iriam atacar de qualquer posição custando apenas 1 de mana no total!

4ª Posição: escolhi Uraeus por ter um dano decente e um ponto de armadura, então o oponente precisaria atacar pelo menos duas vezes (considerando ataque corpo a corpo ou à distância) para mata-lo.

5ª Posição: Eu estava prevendo que iria enfrentar alguns monstros sorrateiros, então coloquei o Agente do Caos pela sua habilidade de Desviar.



My opponent picked Pyre as his Summoner, giving +1 Speed to all his monsters. Cerberus started striking Crypt Beetle damaging only one point of his armor (Total of 2), so the shield ability was being very effective. Serpentine Spy instant killed my Corpse Fiend. Well, things weren’t looking good at all! But, right after that Uraeus attacked Serpentine Spy also killing in one blow, Crypt Beetle did the same with Scorch Fiend and Carrion Shade ended the 1st round attacking Cerberus with his great 1 Damage!

In the beginning of Round 2 Cerberus attacked Crypt Beetle, but only destroyed the last point of his armor. Uraeus killed Kobold Miner and then Cerberus was outnumbered by 4x1 or 3x1 if you don’t count the poor Chaos Agent 😅.

Meu oponente escolheu o invocador Pyre dando +1 de Velocidade pra todos os seus monstros. Cerberus iniciou a batalha atacando Crype Beetle danificando apenas um ponto de armadura (no Total de 2), então a habilidade de escudo já estava sendo bastante eficaz. Serpentine Spy matou instantaneamente minha Corpse Fiend. Bem, as coisas não estavam parecendo muito boas. Mas, logo em seguida Uraeus matou Serpentine Spy também em apenas um ataque, Crypt Beetle fez a mesma coisa com a Scorch Fiend e Carrion Shade finalizou a 1ª Rodada atacando o Cerberus com seu grande ataque de 1 de dano!
