Linux is for nerds
The windows users arent growing. theyre falling. theyre just high. doesnt mean theyre going up. linux has went up by like 1/3 or smth.
as for the reason people arent switching to linux comes down to multiple factors, including the fact that most computers simply come with windows. Also you do get the limitation of certain hardware being a bit more difficult to work with. And a lack of some apps.
You dont really need to be smart to use linux, most of the cli stuff i do are just from tutorials or sudo apt install [app]. there are occasional major fixes, but i've had to do far worse on windows.
its just the general misconception that "linux is for nerds". it is for nerds if you use arch or smth, but ubuntu is fine for most people.
linux is VERY user friendly these days. I'm genually complaining about non-issues. well ram leaks is an issue, but thats just because some devs are lazy. probably discord or spotify.
apart from that I am comparing distros based on stuff like 3d effects, and whether the install is easy.
its not an issue that "idk how to get wifi to work" or "I dont have GPU drivers" because most of this stuff is either easily fixed, or just preinstalled.
