[PT/EN] New Legendary Summoner in Splinterlands, is it worth it?

(Edited)

Hello, Splinterlands Family!

The Water Splinter image.png is famous for its various magic attack units, which are very powerful in terms of attack power and speed.

However, this Splinter has many equally powerful melee and ranged attack cards. What I mean is that Water Splinter is famous for its magic attack cards due to its ancient summoners that grant magic attack buff, among them: Alric Stormbringer and Valnamor

image.png

However, with the arrival of the Chaos Legion Edition and the Summoner Keyla Frendul melee and ranged attack cards begin to have greater use in battle. It's not that they didn't have it before, but the incentive to use magic cards was much greater.

And the arrival of a new Legendary Summoner makes the balance of using other cards more equal and further reinforces the use of melee attack cards in this Splinter.

image.png

I present to you, Possibilus the Wide, the summoner that grants all allied units (+2) health and the skills Trample and Reach. Both are abilities to be used only on melee attack cards.

image.png

Trample
When a Monster with Trample hits and kills its target, it will perform another attack on the next Monster on the enemy Team.

image.png

Reach
Melee attack monsters can attack from the second position.

The Trample ability has always been difficult to activate, as it depends on the enemy monster being killed for this ability to be enabled and the monster defers a new attack to the next unit.

With Possibilus the possibilities of activating the Trample ability are greater since all monsters have Trample and the combination with the Reach ability increases the activation of Trample even more.

To use this summoner optimally, we need to use melee attack cards, with high attack power and speed. In this way, we will always use the main tank and a secondary tank with a melee attack to take full advantage of the Trample and Reach abilities.

An example is illustrated in the cards below, escalating The Kraken to first position and Goblin Mech to second position, both are very offensive melee attack cards. And the Piercing ability image.png from Globin pierces the opponent's armor and attack health as well, which increases the chances of killing the enemy unit from the first position to activate Trample.

image.png

There are combat rules that favor the use of Possibilus the Wide, among them we can mention Equal Opportunity and Melee Mayhem, in order to use melee attack cards so that they can attack from any position further favoring the Trample ability.

Another combat rule that greatly favors this summoner is Stampede, which allows the monster with Trample to activate this ability multiple times. So, as all monsters have the Trample ability, the possibility of activating Trample successively will be high.

image.png

Equal Opportunity
All Monsters have the Opportunity Ability.

image.png

Reach
Melee attack monsters can attack from any position.

image.png

Stampede
The trample ability can be activated multiple times per attack if the trampled Monster is killed.

In today's post, we will analyze a battle in which I had the honor of facing this new Water Splinter summoner, Possibilus the Wide.

The battle took place in the Gold League in Wide mode, with 40 mana cost and Holy Protection combat rules image.png and Equalizer image. png.

When I viewed my opponent's battle history with some battles using the new Summoner I immediately thought he would use it. So, for the Splinter available, the best way to defend yourself would be to use the Splinter of Life with the Legendary Summoner Grandmaster rathe.

image.png

In my lineup I used Shieldbearer as the main tank, as it has a lot of health and armor, in addition to the Taunt ability image.png It draws all attacks to itself. This helps protect our backline units.

And our backline units were based on Sneak attack image.png, since possibly the first two enemy units of our opponent will be two super tanks with a lot of health and armor, due to the abilities of Possibilus.

And in the end, I scaled a ranged unit with the Tank Heal ability image.png, but I would like to have scaled some unit with Repair image.png and that it had some attack, but the mana had already run out in time. 😅

My opponent's lineup was as follows:

CARD
STRATEGY
In the first position, the opponent climbed Baakjira, a tank that doesn't have any type of attack, but has an infinity of abilities (Void, Heal, Slow, Strengthen). Take a lot of work to kill this unit as it has a lot of health.
After that, Sea Monster was chosen, a melee attack card with the ability Heal. It's another card with tank attributes and quite offensive with the Summoner's Reach ability can attack from second position.
In the third position he used a support card, Merdaalin Guardian, to possibly heal the tanks in front of him and repair damaged armor.
The next card to be scaled was Deeplurker, a unit with melee attack and the ability Opportunity.
Then Torhilo The Frozen melee attack card was cast that cannot attack until it reaches the second position.
And finally, Igor Darkspear, a ranged attack card, was cast..

Looking superficially at our opponent's line-up, it can be seen that he has lined up units that are not in line with the objectives of the new Water Summoner. In the first position he set a great card to counter magic damage, but that doesn't have any synergy with the ability Trample, which is a waste.

Another mistake was having chosen Merdaalin Guardian, due to the Equalizer combat rule, all cards have a lot of health and this means that healing is not as effective in these situations. In reality, my opponent used a healing strategy that wasn't as effective.

In this battle, we can't measure the real power of Possibilus the Wide, for two reasons our opponent didn't know how to make a good lineup aiming at Trample and Reach abilities. And second, our opponent has half of the units in fields that cannot attack or do not damage our units.

image.png

After this battle, I have the feeling that Possibilus the Wide is another situational summoner, as well as Conqueror Jacek which depends on certain combat rules to better favor them in battles.

In today's post, we saw in action the new Water Splinter Summoner, Possibilus the Wide, and it is a summoner that has quite powerful abilities, but you need to know when to use it and which cards to use to get the most out of it of your abilities.

And what do you think of this new summoner? Is it an invoker to have in your deck?

image.png
