Auto-Rentals! How Does It Work And Should A New Player Use It?

Hey Everyone! Auto rentals have just recently introduces and ooohhh boy did renting for power get alot easier and also alot more competitive. So, shall we see what the fuss is about?

How to set auto-rentals

Firstly, log onto Peakmonsters and configure your CP bid, you'll also have to give permission for Peakmonsters to do so.

Once you've set up your CP/DEC and how much you want, just click confirm and you're done! Peakmonsters will basically handle the rest of it for you, and that includes extending your rent. The main caveat of course, is that your bid must be competitive. If your CP/DEc requirement is higher than someone else's, (e.g. 200 compared to 90) their bid will take priority over yours since they're willing to pay more.

You can also bid for each card manually, but as you can see, in general the CP/DEC for basically all cards available for rent has gone down drastically. So much so, in fact, that if you're trying to find it on your own, good luck. most of the high CP/DEC ratio cards are 1 BCX cards and it can take a really long time to gather enough of them together for the power you need.

So What About New Players?

This will honestly depend on how new you are. But personally, you should use Peakmonsters if you are trying to get enough power for Silver 3 and up. Bronze 2 doesn't need it, and for Bronze 1 it honestly depends on how patient you are. So let me show you another way to gather power.

Use The In-Game Marketplace

That's right. For Bronze players, especially Bronze 2, you don't have to compete with everyone else. The in-game marketplace works just fine and can be cheaper than using Peakmonsters. Firstly, go to the rental tab and filter for gold foils.

More specifically, you're looking for any gold foil that is not from Chaos Legion Rewards. If it doesn't have that star logo with a number in it, its a valid option.

For some reason, Peakmonsters takes some time in order to register that these cheap rentals are present. Which allows for anyone else to pick them up in the meantime for less than the auto-rental bid rate. Take for example the screenshot above where the #1 bid rate was 94 CP/DEC. If you rented this Goblin Dartling for 3 DEC, its CP ratio would be 166 CP/DEC. Which is nearly twice as cost efficient.

While I was testing this, I even managed to pick up this cave slug for 1.87 DEC, which is a respectable ratio of 267 CP/DEC.

But What's The Catch?

Like I said earlier, this is pretty much only feasible for Bronze, unless you are VERY patient. You'd need 30 of these gold foil commons in order to get the 15k power needed for silver 3, which can take quite a long while.

That said, always remember to calculate your costs. Especially once the new season begins. Stop renting the power for a certain league if you can't earn enough DEC normally to pay it off without gambling on good loot from chests. There's only so many times you can hope for an Oshannus or a gold foil to pop out of one before you run out of DEC.
