F2P Time! New Acc, Let's See How I do!

Heya Everyone! Recently there was an update where DEC rewards were removed from Novice and Bronze 3. Coupled with the fact that the newly implemented auto-rentals for Peakmonsters will start to make things more expensive, I figured there's no better time to try out being a new player again and see how the progression is like without spending.

So, like it or not, we're about to go on a journey (which will probably involve abit of pain)

Rules

Simply put, no aid at all from my main account and no topping up credits except via quest. Only exception is if I ever get something abit too absurd like a golden oshannus or whatever as a quest reward. When that happens, I'll swap it out for something alot less interesting, like a pelacor conjurer, which should keep it more in line with a 'normal' experience.

Fire Quest Time!

My first quest was fire, which honestly isn't particularly difficult, but I noticed something interesting.

There are ALOT of these fire bots that use the 12 mana Malric comp, regardless of how much mana is available. While it does mean I could use them to test what may or may not work against that comp, it also made it really easy to climb out of novice as I could just force a 12 mana draw against them and just wait for a better mana cost, or a more interesting opponent.

Fire in general isn't very bad due to how strong its 12 mana comp is, and the fact that you can just outmuscle some of the basic stuff down at this rank. Including this water comp, for which I'll leave the battle link here. For the most part I just used living lava, spy, and sneak cards where available, with something tanky at the back like the centaur in case I ran into another fire matchup.

Ended the quest at 180 rating, halfway to bronze 2, though I have a feeling I'll be stuck at this rank for awhile yet.

Potion. Yep. This is gonna take awhile, so let's see how long it takes for this account to get off the ground!

Hope you'll like coming along with me for this series, not sure how long it'll be, but it'll be intereting nonetheless and if you like it, leave an upvote! I also stream non-splinterlands stuff on Twitch once in awhile so do drop by and say hi!
