Splinterlands | What Are Your Favorite Rules Of Combat?
For me, it has to be the one going on right now-- Melee Mayhem. Since I enjoy playing the fire splinter the most it really just goes well with our bonus to melee attack.
What is Melee Mayhem? It lets melee attack from anywhere and is amazing!
As far as my strategy goes I like it with a large mana cap as well so I can fit in two tanks. Along with a slow and a weaken which some overlook which I feel adds a nice value-add even if it goes down after the first round or two. Finally, like to have something with blast ability so you are working on what people have in their second slot. That gives it a nice one-two punch.

Since Serpent of the Flame has armor, poison, and retaliate I like to have him up front.

By the time my Serpent goes down if he even dies. My Pit Ogre is enraged and hitting like a truck depending on what happened to hit him. While it is tempting to put him on the end I rather have the fight long over before it comes down to needing to resort to that.
I’ve seen some field a team of all tanks and that to me seems to be going overboard just a tad on that. On top of that many like to put their second tank as the last one. While that seems great if they are putting ranged that have some health already in front of that tank well that just seems like a waste once they drop into the first slot and cannot attack. Even more so if they already have the health to soak up any damage that could be facing by being in the very back.
I happened to get fire for my daily today. While I was not looking to go from Gold I to Diamond II it has been a while since I’ve just unleashed since I’m only doing dailies at this time. My other decks are starting to shape up enough to be ok with the current meta of many holding back. We also don’t’ know how Season III is going start point wise so I thought why not go on a win streak instead of trying break it up with a level 1 team to lose.
So what rules of combat do you enjoy the post? Do you have a certain mana cap in mind for it? Are there any splinters you really enjoy with it?

I just need to level up my cards! Am slowly getting everyone up to level 4, which has enabled me to stick around the 3000 level, but being in Diamond throws the occasional max level cards at me and I'm just... "Woah. Yeah. Need to level up!"
Will get there eventually! :D
Ya I tend to try and sit in silver till its time to make that push. Many are just not playing it seems till the next season so I've found myself already creeping into diamond without much effort. Which with all free packs seems to be decent spot now as well for how my decks are going.
Glad to see I'm not only one who loves melee mayhem! It would be only time I would play if there where not daily rewards.
Will be interesting to see if the climb to champion will be possible next season or if I'm just going settle for diamond. I've become use to the spam and spam again brute forcing my way up.
Granted I think my understanding of the game is more then decent when the time comes to having to slow down.

I'm just concerned with the whole in-putting private keys into the site. Do most people make a new account to join this?
While some do just to log in should only be the posting key so that not a big deal since that is easy to change. I have no idea if uses steemconnect for that.
To buy anything will be via steemconnect which is about as safe as anyone can be when using you keys elsewhere.
There are quite a few playing including some large accounts. Just to make it into the top ten list of most valuable decks you would need almost 19k+ USD in cards. So it is going require some trust either way.
I decided to just take the free account... since well, it's free!
And why not. Just another Steemit account to level up I suppose.

And thanks for the lengthy response. I seems like something I could get into collecting, especially with just steemit payouts.
While it has no cost or any benefits for you . I get a 5% cut from start pack and booster sales.
One day these accounts could become insanely worth a lot and its not a bad idea to have a serpent account to keep things extra safe on. SM market cap at this time is estimated to be around 1.3 million USD. Not bad for a game still in beta.
I may at some point just have a "holding" account if things start to take off. Last season I won 30 booster packs just from my season ranking along with 10 or so from the daily quests.
At some point we will get tournaments and while I don't expect to win any of those. There is going be a lot money being tossed around.
Cool, It's a good bonus for getting users into the game. You should probably see some kickbacks from time to time then~

Since I play with level 1 cards, I'd prefer 15-19 mana with Aim True and no legendary one @enjar 😉 any splinters would do because I like to learn about how to maximize their abilities 😊 I'm a newbie.
I'm thinking about levelling up my cards but I'll wait till the tourney starts later, really enjoy this games though.
With my other splinters I do prefer it being 20 or less for the mana cap. Otherwise I need to use some neutrals which I don' have leveled up very far.
I've seen some level 1 decks go very far when someone works out a great combo for the current conflicts.
I can see why you would like aim true! That would come quite in handy when your playing a counter but just have lower level cards :)
