RE: Splinterland Rewards: The Error Of Conventional Attachment To "Profit & Loss"

I think my most frustrating moment in Splinterlands was buying a card to build my first time not realizing that the new set was about to release. I was new, so I dropped a very small investment just to try the game. That card is now worth 5% of what I purchased it for, and I never use it; the starter summoners/monsters from Chaos Legion completely invalidated it.
I suppose the lesson is, sadly, that I'm unlikely to buy cards for quite some time until I've observed enough to understand when the market is bottoming out as part of the normal cycles of each new set. It's just unfortunate that I had such poor timing as a new player :S

I also started playing just before the latest price drop, back when a ureaus was $4 and creeping ooze was at $10 ,while i will have lost in the short term on these cards, once CL starts running low the prices will recover and most likely increase beyond their previous highs plus the decent CL cards will reach their true potential. Just ride it out for now and stack CL cards imo.
In the short term, one's currently losing, no doubt, but this should change in the long-term. I'm not dependent on splinterlands for anything at the moment. I just want to grow my deck and my account.
Im looking at it a similar way, im actually enjoying the game and building up my decks. If the prices fly up in a year or two thats a bonus, if not its just another game ive spent some money on to play(same as any other game with DLC) ,however at the very least with this game the items are resellable.

The market is currently down, I don't know if it's totally bottomed but then when the general sale is over, I think some of these cards will become valuable again. Not that I'm saying this with certainty. Anything is possible with splinterlands at this moment. I'm sorry for the money you've spent, but don't sell yet.
Oh, I have no intention of selling. Just wish I had better timing, as always ;P
