Hacker captured 88 Ethereum

Hacker attacks repeatedly cause excitement in the crypto scene. Now it was a 17-year-old student from the USA who captured a total of 88 ETHs. A comparatively small amount compared to hacking the polygon network a few months ago, when it was about $600 million, but this case also raises security concerns. This is not even about the network of a cryptocurrency, which is called too insecure, but about discord. Because the hacker had managed to hack the Discord server of the development team and was thus able to pose as moderator of the Discord channel.

ETH

In the course of this, the alleged fraudster lured the members of the channel into transactions worth a total of 88 ETHs (current value about 350,000 dollars). For the scam, the hacker shared a link suggesting that community members would mint Creature Toadz in a coin known as the “Stealth Mint. ”

However, things worked out well for the members concerned: Only a short time later, the hacker returned the loot. The hacker then publicly confessed to the crime and declared: “It was a joke. ” He had planned to remit the stolen money immediately anyway.

What do you think of hacker attacks like this one, which have happened many times in the past? Do they pose a major threat to the crypto business?

On the one hand I hate them, but on the other we are only gonna build awareness and vigilance after people are burned over and over again.

It was good that he gave them back. I bet those who suffered even for a little will not be so easily taken again.

I am not condoning the actions of the hacker. Just saying people never learn not to touch a hot stove until they touch one for the most part.
