Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - The power of LORKUS

Hey Splintermates, what is going on? Are you all excited, just like me? 😅😁. It seems like the team is never taking a breath and they are delivering lots and lost of new stuff. There is a new card set available, new card foil types and lots and lots of new things, which makes this game even more fun.

In this new Splinterlands Social Media Challenge we have been asked by the team to share some exciting moments with the community.

As you might have read in the title, with the new card set change, there is one clear winner: LORKUS. As my friend and guild mate @nozem01 has written in his receant post, I was lucky and identified his power already some months ago. I own a nice lvl 2 LORKUS😎.

This fancy boy was released with the previous card set called REBELLION. He looks fancy, but in reality he is one of the most powerful cards in modern format (together with TOFU I would say). Before showing you a battle, I would like to share with you what the new modern KING offers you.

UNENDLESS POWER 😱

As you can see on the picture below, the new meta KING provides a double buff: +1 Magic and +1 Melee attack. This is an incredible buff for two of my favourites splinters: Death and Fire.

But in addition to these two powerful buffs, LORKUS provides aswell some abilities that you will need to choose carefully.

You will need to choose between these 2 options:

• Affliction and Life Leech: A powerful combination to gain extra health and to avoid your enemy getting healed. You can give these abilities to 2 units.

or

• Trample and Fury: Another nice combination specially for melee only battles.

With LORKUS you will be able to combine magic and melee units and all of them will get a nice boost. But ESTEBAM, stop writting so much and show us some action please 🤑.

REBELLION and CONCLAVE ARCANA combination

The Splinterlands universe is currently trying to figure out the new meta of the game. As there are so many new cards with abilities and the old meta has shifted to Wild, we need to keep playing to gather information.

On this basis, my idea is to combine both sets and try to use LORKUS as much as possible. He provides power😏.

In todays battle, I would like to share you a nice using that principle.

RULESET:

• BLAST: All units gain Blast ability
• Even Stevens: Only even mana units can be summoned
• 51 Mana cost available

For battles under the blast ruleset, I consider attacking first is key. The faster you attack, the faster you can kill enemies monsters. For that reasons, I just bought a new Conclave Arcana card which gives all the team a speed buff:** SILVERLEAF WARLOCK.**

ROUND 0 - Lets choose Tactics:

In this battle, I have provided the affliction and life leech abilies to the new promo card Arcane Skinwalker and to Silverleaf Warlock. In addition, my shadowfey sheik has the life leech ability as well.

In round 0, my enemy has a card with ambush, so he will start hitting first.

Round 1 - Here we go!

After my enemy has hit me with his ambush unit, my team is ready to go. Most of my units will hit first, but in this round I am not going to be able to take any of his units down. But this is a long battle, so in Round 2 I am going to hit him first again😎.

Round 2 - Keep pushin´ ESTEBAM!

As my units have a speed buff, in this new round I will be able to take down some of his units and 3 of my monsters will keep getting additional health thanks to the LORKUS additional ability.

Round 3 - The battle is mine!

In a long term battle you will clearly see the power of LORKUS. While the enemy´s team is getting killed, your team is getting stronger. You take his units down and your team gets healed. He will be doing less and less damage, but your team keeps getting bigger. THIS IS LORKUS!

GG to WOLFVS, he had some nice Conclave Arcana cards, but as shown in this battle, LORKUS is really strong. I got some juicy rewards thanks to the WIN😎 that I will spend in the GLINT shop.
