An Advice To The Newbies Here On Hive

avatar

Hello everyone,
Welcome to my blog once again and to the #hiveghana initiative, I am so glad to be here and to give my little contribution to the newbies here. Hope you all finds this piece useful.

I have been here for more than a year and the little experience here is what I will be sharing to you all, one thing I have noticed here and that will help newbies is "time" you need to spend quality time here if you want to become a better hivian there is no two ways about it, the more you spend quality time here the better you become.

In my little time here I have made friends and come across many people who came in to hive and are no more and if you go to their DM to ask why they have not been engaging the platform they give one excuse to the other. There are people who find it difficult to explore hive, some don't even know what people do here, especially each community that has a specific kind of post to be made there and their rules. You see people doing the opposite, meaning they don't know what to do.

Get a mentor

The first thing anyone who is coming to hive should do is to get a mentor who is there to show you your way through hive and then you start engaging the communities. I know it may be hard for a newbie but with the help of a mentor one can grow fast here. But the more you spend quality time the more you understand hive for yourself not always running to you mentor for everything you can grow here in hive after some series of lectures by engaging.

Quality engagement

Engagement in hive is very important this make you gain visibility, make friends across the globe and read from others, most of the information you will need here in hive will be through friends post while reading you will get to understand more better especially when it comes to making some stakes in a particular token you may not know about it but mmby reading and engaging on others post you get the update. I remember when I started playing #splinterlands play2earn game I didn't know my way around the game but while commenting on a friend's post he offered to teach me through the discord. So you will never be able to tell what relationship you will build and the visibility you will gain by engaging on others' posts.

Quality post and pictures.

Make it your business to always make quality posts that are related to the community, don't just post anything. I know you have liberty to post but each community has their expectations from their members so keep to the rules, try to make your word count above 500 minimum. As a newbie skipping days to make post is not a good idea, you have to be consistent in making post this how to grow fast, in this your beginning stages consistency is much required even when you are not been appreciate better you have to keep striving if you want to become a big and better hivian. Set a post goal and stick to it, be consistent and dedicated to your goal.

In summary
To become a better hivian, engagement is necessary, be consistent and dedicated. Whatever you put in here is what you will get. The more you spend quality time here the better you become.

Thank you for sharing these great experiences and also advices with us. Being a newbie can sometimes be very overwhelming because you feel like you’re in a dark room with no light. With little guidance everything will seem less easier and fun.

Engagement on the blockchain is very important as we need to make new friends and also learn more. Not only newbies but oldies also will benefit a lot from your post. Thanks for sharing.

Yes dear. A mentor will be very okay. Newbies are used to making lots of mistakes. But if they can have a mentor, it will help alot.
