Hello everyone welcome to my blog once again, and to another exciting week it's another wonderful initiative of the #Hiveghana weekly contest I am so delighted to participate in.

So for today and 3 I'll be talking about procrastination and my personal story of how I overcame procrastination, let's discuss.

Procrastination is a common entrance among many of us, the inability for us to meet up to a deadline, achieving our targeted goals and accomplishing our full goal. I was once a victim of procrastination, especially doing things that require much of my time, energy and consistency. Overcoming procrastination is difficult but trust me it's an amazing experience you will want to have.

Understanding Procrastination
Before I share my own personal story I would like to briefly explore with you what procrastination is.

Procrastination is the act of delaying tasks or actions that need to be accomplished. It often arises from a combination of factors, including fear of failure, lack of motivation, and poor time management skills.

My Procrastination Story.

My own story of procrastination started From School I would like to put up studying for exams on the a we close to the exams I did not really see me is why I start reading month before exams times table so I will just keep procrastinating and keep procrastinating till a week close to the exam of a up and down Reading, this lifestyle continue till I get to hive and my career, where I will delay writing of post and completing a task in the office I will always promise myself that I will do them "later."

The Turning Point in my life

The victory came when I realized that I was living an unfulfilled life, a kind of life that will not allow me reach my goals and destination. I needed to take some actions in order to free myself from this habit that was already destroying me.

Here are some helpful steps I took to overcome procrastination:

Self-awareness

It was at the point of realization I was able to know I was living the life of a chronic procrastinator. It was then I was able to detect the problem and how I would come up with possible solutions.

Goal setting

I had to set up goals for myself, the long term I had to break them into short so I could accomplish them within a short period of time. I have them clear and specific, seeing the reason why I should be on it till I finish them.

Prioritization

This one was the best for me as I don't have to misprioritized what to do first, I have to sort the important and urgent ones first and tackle them before attending to the less important ones.

Time management

I had to schedule my tasks well, and manage my time effectively. These tips were able to help me allocate how much time for each task and help reduce procrastination.

Overcoming fear

Failure one of the main reason why I kept procrastinating things, especially making post on hive and don't get support it can be really discouraging, but I had to embrace the mindset of growth, I had to admit that there are times and season in life, and hive is not exclusive.

This is where I will like to stop. This post was inspired by the #hiveghana weekly contest
