A Court of Mist and Fury - Sarah J. Maas

This one was way better than the first one. However, it still has some real problems for me. First, the good things. The writing is easy and flows well, the description of the cities is really appealing and I really enjoyed to learn a bit more about the politics of the whole thing. The visit to the Summer Court was brief and a bit meh, but I still enjoyed being in a different setting.
Now, the meh things. Feyre felt like Golden Retriever the entire book. She spent 80% of the time fetching things for various people and we're just following her going and coming back. I know it was all for the big climax at the end, and that stopping the Hybern King was "the plot", but with so much fetching and retrieving, it felt like there was no plot at all at time.
Now, about Rhysand and Tamlin... SJM just did a 180 on those characters and switched them up entirely, which is a bit weird to me. On the first book Tamlin is this angelic and kind being, and Rhysand is the incarnation of evil. On the second book, Tamlin is just the worst being at the face of the planet, and Rhysand is a fallen angel that should be sitting next to God. The change was too drastic and these 2 characters just completely switched seats, having nothing new to set them apart from the previous version. I believe Rhys is just too god-like in this book, and Tamlin was just done dirty by the author. These books are a few years old, so I am just wondering if after the first one came out, the fans shipped Feyre and Rhys so badly that SJM just found a way to switch their places, I don't know. I felt weird and too forced. Specially when she is comparing them all the time, how good one is and how vile the other one is.
Another thing that bothered me was how, at the end, both sisters went in the cauldron. I also feel like people, at the time, were eager to see more of Elain and Nesta, so SJM just found a weird way to put them both close to Feyre again. The king wanted to show the queens that the cauldron worked, and he did with Elain... why do it with Nesta as well? He was just trying to prove a point, there was really no need for him to do it twice, but sure. Also, I do like that Elain and Lucien are mated, because they both seems kind and seem to deserve a happy ending. but why on earth was that put out so blatantly? "I am your mate" like please, that was so random, why would he say that right there and then? And why can't SJM leave a bit more to the imagination? It would have been much better for me to read something along the lines of "Lucien looked at her and knew that he was saying the perfect companion for him", like something more descriptive and not just "you are my mate" urgh
WHICH LEADS ME TO: I HATE HOW MUCH THE WORD MATE IS USED. Feyre is constantly thinking "what happened to Rhys, my mate?" Is there really a need for that?
Nonetheless, I am genuinely excited for the next book because I am expecting to meet more High Lords and Courts!
