⚔️Collateral Damage and Shades of Gray⚔️

Greetings to all my fellow players around the world and to Splinterlands. How are you all doing Splinters? Hope you are all doing great.

Its been a while since Splinterlands posted its last challenge, and since its my freetime today so why not share some insights about the game😊.

This strategy that I've come up with is for ==Collateral Damage ruleset==.

All units have Reckless.

Reckless is a debilitation ability of unit that means "Each successful attack also deals 1 true damage to adjacent allied units."

I try to avoid using unit with reckless ability because it can harm the adjacent unit, 1 damage will hurt especially in low mana. But there are some instances that I use this debilitation, like with the combination of Cavewise Wayfinder and Viscious Giraffe, using a unit with Painforge ability is the one suited for this ruleset. I'm sure you have encounter the duo of this two strong monster. They are formidable tandem and really brings about distruction in the frontline. So the best strategy for this modifier is to find the team that has painforge ability and at the same time adding one or two healer that we can squeeze in the team.

But as you all know, sometimes the choices for us to use the best element we have will be tested in another ruleset, which is ==Shades of Gray==.

You can only summon neutral units.

Now it narrows our selection process to only Neutral Unit, while we can use the best Archon available, its still difficult to form a team with just one element. So that is why card collection for this element is also essential. I actually like to have a complete team of this element same with the dragon element because I can combine it with other element.

So I just recently develop a strategy lately and I don't know if I am late of knowing this, because I find it very clever and I had a some successful battle using this strategy. Of course painforge is the best suited for this ruleset so I would like to say that this may be a very good second option.

If all unit has reckless ability, then every attack will cause 1 damage to adjacent unit, now to avoid hurting the team so much with this debilitation I thought of why not use a unit without an attack in between the unit with an attack. That way I can conserve the health of my team. So the composition of my team will be:

  • 1st position: Unit without attack.
  • 2nd position: Unit with attack.
  • 3rd position: Unit without attack
  • 4th position: Unit with attack.
  • 5th position: Unit without attack.
  • 6th position: Unit with attack.

Preserving the health of the attacker I therefore sacrifice the health of the unit without an attack, but there are certain condition that have to be met for this strategy to work smoothly.

  1. The sacrifice unit without attack, which will recieve the damage of reckless should have a high health.

  2. The unit with attack should have a high damage or at least can provide at least 2 or 3 damage since I only have 3 units with an attack. The enemy might have the advantage of recieving low damage.

  3. Use units or archon that can aid the team like debuff or additional tactic ability.

  4. This strategy works well in high mana and this might not always work for everyone especially when facing a player with high level deck.

Now lets get into the battle.

Round 1 looks like my enemy is somehow the edge. I had a low level card for this battle.
Round 2 is where my he will take the lead by killing my Ulundin Overseer.
Round 3 is still pretty close match. We both still have 5 cards standing.
At Round 4 it starts to show that I now have the advantage.
Round 5, I can tell its a won game already.
Round 6 and his last card still standing but I'm not worry anymore because my last two cards have life leech.
Round 7, just one strike for both cards still have the last round to finish the game.
Round 8 just finishing touches, although he survive for a few rounds it was already clear at round 4 and 5 that I will win already.

BATTLE LINK

It was a good battle until the middle rounds. My first thought when I saw the line up is I will loose here but I watch the game and the strategy I use really help me. Big respect to my opponent in this battle @ogfox I am following this fellow player here in peakd and have met in battlefield in rank and tournament for a few times and I had recieved countless defeat from him.
