Splinterlands Art Contest Week 284; Alva the Crusher

At the start of the day I was begining to think I wouldn't be able to make a digital piece for my Splinterlands entry this week but then when I saw that of my brother's I was motivated to do due diligence. I started out with the lineart several hours back when I was supposed to be cooking. I knew it was late but this entry was important so I went with this.

Earlier in the day I made a graphite drawing of the Blood Maker holding his oddly shaped dynamite. At the time I was excited and wanted to edit right away. Just few hours after that instance, their was power and I thought to do something for my entry next week. atleast to stat it off. I ended up doing the whole thing at a stretch to my surprise.

I didn't know to well what to do with the background (as you well know I am a terrible background maker) so I made something up as though she was leaving a fight scene or a spot where there was a quickly settled squabble.

You can also easily notice that the real Alva has an incredibly muscular physique as opposed to this one. And that is one of the reasons I went with this, an anime styled character.
The reference isn't mine though so I changed some details while sketching.
