Buying monsters, but not buying summoners

Deciding on what to not ever buy

When we're starting to build up a long-term Splinterlands collection targeted at Wild ranked battles, costs are somewhat prohibitive when it comes to summoners. A maxed level summoner goes for over $100, even though we could spend that money on various maxed level monsters of great utility. Summoners are a barrier we can't easily overcome, or can we?

After giving it some thought, I've decided I should just skip purchasing summoners entirely. That's because, even though they're so important, there's a continuous supply of whatever's being currently distributed. A steady stream of summoners will keep being released, so I can rent whatever's low budget enough to suit my needs. After all, players people won't use all of their summoners evenly.

What's more, modern summoner prices should fall once they rotate out of the Modern format. Legendary cards like Llama and Yodin will stay out of the Modern format forever, lowering demand and therefore prices. That's why I think I'll be able to pick up those beasts once the next expansion arrives.

Building up power is particularly hard when we have to ditch out so much money for summoners. We have to either buy summoners or buy enough collection power. However, since we're forfeiting summoners altogether, it's much easier to keep increasing our CP. By the end of the day, all we're renting are a couple of summoners and a few key monsters to go along with them.

This is my current strategy fit for my low budget investment. Fits like a glove in this game, considering how easy it is to profit through buying monster cards.
