Splinterlands Journal, April 22nd - "How to study for tournaments"

I want to get into tournaments. My 3k SPS stake allows me to do so, making it a waste if I don't even try. But how's the meta nowadays? What kind of teams win championships? How can I prepare myself, instead of going in blindly risking entry fees left and right?

After thinking about it, my answer is following top battlers from the leaderboards in the tourney ranks I want to join. It's very unlikely people use cards even stronger than those, because it's either a waste of their time or their money. That's a good training camp I could study.

But alas, I want to take it a step further. Replaying recently finished tournaments, such as from this week's and last week's, is quite easy thanks to the "completed" option on the list of tournaments from official website.

From there, checking battles, specially those fought by that tournament's winners, is very easy. Just remember to change from "my battles" to "Group", and also to check battles from every group.

In this image, there are 6 groups, so I could be missing out on very important tactics if I ignored the remaining players altogether. But I'd surely say it's okay to ignore battles from the first round. Although people are trying hard already, it's hard to tell who the weaker players are, which wastes our time.
