Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: Survival Mode.

Survival mode was added to Splinterlands starting with this season. So I decided to try it out. I won 5 of the 9 battles. I really liked the idea behind the survival mode. The concept of not having to use energy and instead temporarily losing cards is very interesting. The problem is that I am not good enough player/ not rich enough to be successful in this mode. I think that this mode is a great opportunity for those players who either has a deep budget and can rent as many cards as they want or for those who have multiple copies of highest level cards. The skill level required for this mode is also very high because the mode seems very competitive. As for me I played 9 games and already lost my best/ favorite cards and had to rent them so I could still play them in wild mode. My budget is very limited so those few thousands DEC coins lost renting cards is already painful to me. So I don't think that I will not be playing Survival mode much because I don't want to lose my best cards for so long. One thing I dislike is that leaderboard rewards are in Glint and not in DEC coin. Glint is nice for buying legendary, alchemy potions or energy so I suppose that Glint has its usages. But I still would prefer rewards in DEC or SPS because DEC and SPS seems more like a real money to me while Glint feels like just in game currency(because if you buy cards with Glint you still need to unlock them with other currencies), I wish I would have at least 4-5 copies of each my favorite card/ or hundreds of thousands of DEC/credits. At that point I would happily play more battles in Survival mode. But at the moment it is not something I can really afford. Also I am wondering how survival mode will effect renting of cards. I hope that all higher level cards will not be rented by just rich survival mode players...
