Hello Splinterlandians,

in this weeks battle challenge, organized by the Splinterlands team, I have a battle for you, where my opponent used Kron the Undying. I play in the silver league and have only summoners for the bronze league (Rare LVL2; Legendary LVL1). So you may think, I can't win this battle against Kron, but the title of this post wasn't used randomly.

I don't want to spoil you too much, so just go further, read the whole post and have a look at the battle if you are interested. Thanks in advance for all types of support!

Ruleset:

The battle had a really boring rulest in my opinion. Mid mana cap, three splinters to play and the Back to Basics ruleset. In the recent battles of my opponent I could see, that he often uses Obsidian from the earth splinter with magic attackers. I assumed that my opponent will play a similiar strategy in this battle, because it would do well in this rulest. So my plan was to counter Obsidian and magic attacks.

Lineup:

As you can see my opponent used Obsidian and magic attackers indeed. I have chosen Immortalis from the earth splinter to counter it, because he gives all my cards the void ability. I decided to play with two melee tanks in the first position, than the fiend as a filler, two magic attackers, and last but not least a ranged attacker. My biggest fear in the opponents team was, not surprisingly, Kron the Undying. Even if he hasn't his abilities in this ruleset he is a quite decent card, because of the good raw stats. Let's see how this battle will end.

In the third round of the battle my first tank already died and my second has only 1 HP left, but I also eleminated the the first to cards of my opponent. When my Hunter Jarx attacked it happened: Kron the Undying died. After Kron my opponent hasn't a tank any more and his last three cards have very low HP. Most of you know how this battle will end.

Result:

Of course I won the battle. Even if my second tank had only 1 HP left, my damage dealers in the rear positions eleminated his last three cards, because they had much more HP. With this battle I wanted to show you why I love this game so much. Kron is a very strong card, maybe one of the strongest. But even if you have a strong card in your lineup, you have to choose the right strategy for the active ruleset and adjust yourself to the last battles of your opponent, because if you don't, you'll lose.

Thanks for reading so far and I wish you a great day!
