My first impressions of splinterlands

The Intiation

A few months ago, a mate of mine and I were looking over the all the NFT based games out there, when it struck, the one that caught our eye, it was intriguing and interesting! And that game of course was splinterlands.

Upon first impression of playing the game, I'll admit, I was lost and had no idea what I was doing, and gave up. I tried the tutorial over and over and over again, just to try and get a grip of the game, but I couldn't. I gave it a break for a few days, and came back, this time with a fresh set of eyes and eager to learn. Slowly I learnt and understood the mechanics of it, where to place cards and best tactics to take down certain summoners (psst it's at about this point that I start getting hooked on it).

The Hook

At first the thing that brought me in was the possibility of earning just for playing a game, but it's so much more than that to me now, I don't care nearly as much about the DEC, as I do watching the battles and looking to climb the ladder. I love to try and work out in the first few seconds of a battle, if my team will take down the opponent, I've got a pretty good grasp on it, and usually get it right the first time. However, there's a few battles that catch me by surprise.

I was gifted with some pretty good reward cards, whilst they were still availble. So far my favorite is Axe Master, that double hit really takes down the health of the tank. I'm always checking over on peakmonsters to increase my card collection.

I think it's fair to say at this point to say that I'm more than hooked, and there's a lot of players out there that are like me. So, if you've tried it out before and couldn't quite come to grips with it, I recommend you stick with it! Happy playing all, I hope to see you on the battlefield some day.

There's no specific format on how you do your intro post, but there is some suggested content that we would love to see in your post. Information like who are you and where you're from, how did you discover Hive or who invited you, what types of content you want to see here and the types that you want to produce, and what are your expectations in this platform. There's no pressure on this. You can choose whatever information you would like to share.

You can tag me @macchiata on your intro post if you decided to make one.
