Have you considered going the same route but with HBD instead? Maybe for next time... Selling the HBD on an exchange puts downward pressure on the price, helping the peg when its over 1 USD. Since your goal is fiat anyway, doing that can also help stabilise HBD

@appukuttan6653 was doing some similar experimentation a couple months back. They found that trading their HBD for Bitcoin Cash on the exchange, instead of Bitcoin, brought the fees way down as well
