Ruthless Xenith Archer hunts harmless Kitty
Hey guys,
This week the mighty Xenith Archer is featured in the Battle of the Week, but before I could add her to one of my teams, I encountered her (although, I don't know her actual pronouns. Mea culpa if I misgender her. Just kidding.) on my enemies lineup.
The Ruleset was Aim Trued and Keep Your Distance.

So, no melee monsters were allowed and every archer attack would hit. I had just rented Kitty to climb the leagues a bit quicker in order to get to the juicy RP shares, but in this instance, it was probably not the best use for Kitty, because aim true from this summoner already was guaranteed in the ruleset.
I could use two extra speed though and the tankheal.

As mentioned, I decided on Kitty, as a throwaway tank the Furious Chicken and the Dragon Spirit as a Speedmonster with Kitty and Supply Runner in the back. Chaos Agent with his dodge chance was also a good idea, or so I thought.
But I was an idiot, because the ruleset would ensure, every archer attack would hit me, even if I had a 100% dodge chance in normal circumstances and because no melee attack monster was allowed, I totally fucked up my lineup. But Kittys speed and poison from Venari Bonesmith/ Doctor Blight saved me from a bitter loss.
Round 1
Through the speed difference, I very quickly got through Scavo Chemist, but as mentioned I couldn't profit from Dragon Spirits 8 speed. Every archer attack hit and it took a moment for me to grasp, why this was the case. I felt pretty stupid and was very tense all of a sudden. This match was on razors edge and I was not prepared for that.
Dragon Spirit held on to his life with one hitpoint left.
Round 2
Kitty healed Dragon Spirit back up to three HP and I got to attack first again. But even after all my monsters attacked, Molten Ash Golem still stood tall, but with affliction (not really important, because he didn't have a main heal) and poison. Soon after my attacks were finished, I got thrashed. Dragon Spirit and Chaos Agent were soon gone and if Venary Bonesmith didn't have Life Leech, this battle would've been over.
Round 3
Kitty healed my now-tank Bonesmith up to 7 HP and I finally killed the Ash Golem. This was the only archer, who could attack from the first position, so I had the upper hand.
At this point I was truly thankfull, he only got level 1 monsters, because I would have been toast with one or two attack points more in his backline.
Even Xenith Archer at level 5 could have made a difference for him with two more HP as a tank in Round 4, but I am not complaining.
Round 4
The depleted lineups on both sides did not have much HP left. After my attacks, Xenith Archer was in the first position and the enemies Fire Elemental and Spark Pixies did massive damage. Venary Bonesmith only just held on with 1 HP and Doctor Blight with 2 HP was in no better shape.
Without the speed difference from Supply Runner, I'd had lost the battle even with Kitty.
He took out his arch enemy Xenith Archer and Bonesmith applied poison to the Fire Elemental.
With the applied poison, my victory was secured, but it was a dirty win and I felt ashamed for being this stupid.
I have miles to go to compete in the big leagues, but these battles are necessary to learn and as I don't own a Kitty myself, I have an excuse.
As I progress in the game, I hope these rookie mistakes become fewer and fewer.
Round 5 and 6
To summarize, it was a close win for me and the rulesets still are stressful, especially when I am in Silver and most cards don't have all the skills they have in Gold, where I currently play.
Xenith Archer could have made the difference, had she been level 5. I'm pretty sure of that.
I own a Xenith Archer myself, but I have only levelled her to level 4. With roughly 0,30$ per BCX, I have a ways to go to max her out, but this is my intention. For only 2 Mana and being a neutral card, she is very useful.
The equalizer ruleset is another ruleset, where you can put her in as well as Close Range or Explosive Weaponry. With Fog of War, you can put it in the back, when mana is scarce.
It is a very good card and will be very expensive, when CL sells out in my opinion.
