Obsidian is a magic centric summoner that provide additional magic attack to all magic monsters at 4 mana cost.

At 3 mana cost, Hill Giant is a value for mana tank. The speed is slow the attack is low, but has reasonable hit point. Suitable for low to medium mana cost battles.

Failed Summoner cost just 2 mana. It may be one of the best cards to choose from, especially if you are playing against magic monsters. Since only Earth splinter was allowed, there's little doubt about the likely hood of enemy choosing magic cards. It can be a buffer after the tank, it can take care of sniper to a certain period. It is a nightmare for magic monsters with snipe ability because of it's magic reflection ability.

I usually place Regal Peryton at the end of the line to take advantage of it's speed and flying ability to take care of sneakers. But sinceEarth splinter doesn't usually use sneakers, I decided to place in the third position because of it's speed and hit point.

As I was pretty sure enemy won't use opportunity monster, Khmer Princess was placed in 4th position. It provide 2 magic attacks at 2 mana cost with the help of Summoner. If you have a couple of attacks with Khmer Princess, you are mostly likely come out as the winner. It is the target for opportunity monsters and snipers. It is best to place after something like Chaos Agent so that opportunity monster or sniper would attack Chaos Agent first.

Wood Nymph was placed at the end of the line sine enemy was unlikely to use sneakers. It's magic will be boosted by the summoner and it will provided very much needed healing ability to the tank.

The battle was Earth vs Earth since no other splinters were not allowed except Earth splinter and the battle rule being Taking Side, which meant natural monsters were not allowed to use. Mana cap was 20.

_{In round-2, Regal Peryton and Failed Summoner took care of enemy taunting card. Wood Nymph healed Regal Peryton. After round-2, it became 3 vs 2 magic cards and the result was obvious.}

It was relatively easy battle because, I know I was against Earth splinter able to place inexpensive monsters. Wood Nymph was also very useful. As it is not starter card, I rented in from the market.
